Field of View

blouse (J.Crew), pants (J.Crew), clutch (Treesje), shoes (Matt Bernson), belt (Target), bracelet (Stella & Dot), watch (Cartier), ring (David Yurman), necklace (Maya Brenner)
Apologies for the no post yesterday; however, work was BONKERS!  Let's get to it:
So here's the thing with Lexington scenery--it is beyond gorg!  The simplest of fields, horse farms, or parks can look magical at sunset.  I never thought I would find a place with equal charm and beauty as my hometown, Jupiter, Florida, but Lex manages to have just that!
But what about THESE PANTS?  I just adore the graphic punch they deliver--and the pairings we could muster up--forget it!  Essentially any color you match with these lovelies is going to work.  I'm already imagining a cozy black cable knit, layered over a striped button down, my bright red coat, and some black ankle booties--no doubt y'all are going to see some repeat performances from these bad boys this season!
On a much more heartfelt note, sending my deepest continued prayers to those affected by the storm.  God bless.

Stripe the Camo

peplum & jacket (J.Crew),  pants (Gap), heels (Matt Bernson), necklace (Stella & Dot), watch (Cartier), ring (David Yurman), bracelets (Stella & Dot and Asos), shades (Ray Ban)
Have a fun little print mix for you all heading into a very exciting weekend!  My guy and I are en route to Chicago to celebrate the nuptials of my oldest and dearest pal, Tiff.  She was my very first friend I made in Mrs. Prokop's kindergarten class and now here we are many, many years later...truly such a fun and special weekend ahead!  Follow me on Instagram to keep in touch with the weekend's festivities.  Y'all make it a good one!

Peplum loves Stripes

blazer (Express), top (Zara), pants (J.Crew), shoes (Zara), rings (Lagos & David Yurman), clutch (Treesje),  necklace & bracelet (Stella & Dot)
It's no secret, I dig this BLAZER.  The sucker goes with too many looks to even count.  Case in point, take a gander at my guest post with Lou What Wear where I recount some favorite looks with this lovely!  Thanks, Miss Danielle, for having me---y'all make it a good one!

Equestrian

sweater, blazer, chambray, belt (J.Crew), cords (AG), boots (Michael Kors), bag (Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Lagos), bracelet (CC Skye)
Living in the Horse Capital, you can't help but sport a little equestrian flair. I've always been fond of the polish and classic elements of an equestrian look, not to mention, it's quintessentially fall.  I also paired this look with leopard ballet flats for a more subtle approach.  Have a little argyle that you haven't sported in a while?  Why not pair her with stripes for a fun print mix? If I may suggest a definite must for fall...Cords...they're a fun & comfy alternative to denim.  Fortunately for us, they're EVERYWHERE..J.Crew & GAP have super cute & colorful options (these Bow Cords--stop it)!

The Remix

jeans (Paige), sweater (Banana Republic), peter pan (Piperlime, Tinley Road or THIS adorable option), flats (Belle by Sigerson Morrison LOVE these), tote (Gucci), watch (Cartier), ring (Lagos), shades (colors in optiCS), bracelet (Stella & Dot), necklace (J.Crew)

Remixing & repurposing is one of my favorite things to do not only with my interiors, but my wardrobe, too.  Do you all recall my Peter & Pearls post?  Well, I've been clocking this J.Crew top for quite a bit; however, I just hadn't gotten around to snagging it.  With a minimal amount of creativity I just layered a grey crewneck sweater over the peter pan blouse and voila---a lovely alternative!  Similarly, my Weekender post highlights my favorite Paige Polka Dot Jeans with a more laid back, casual vibe...can't wait to sport them with my Hunter Wellies, too!  Y'all make it a good one--enjoy your weekend!
PS:  How gorg are Lexington's fall leaves---love!

Vested Leather

leather jacket (True Religion old, loving THIS Michael Kors), vest (Old Navy, Jacket Version), tee (Enza Costa), jeans (J Brand), satchel (Cambridge Satchel Co), boots (Jeffrey Campbell), bracelets (Stella & Dot and CC Skye, Voce on Clay, Lexington), watch (Tag Heuer), ring (Lagos), shades (Ray Ban)
It's a wonder Kristin and I even got these shots considering I was being heckled by a passerby...major heckling, like--tossing curse words at me for smiling and not making eye contact with him (I almost think you can see him in my shades), which is why I'm pseudo laughing in the last shot!  Needless to say I found it to be extremely entertaining considering the poor guy was clearly off his meds or still intoxicated from the previous evening!

Onto the rig, yes?  One of my favorite aspects of fall and winter is the abundance of layering--so so good!  What's fun about this little number is you really could reverse the layering (vest on top and leather jacket underneath) OR you could layer with a denim vest or jacket on underneath as well.  While this look has a more urban feel to it, I love pairing this jacket with feminine pieces, too, to toughen her up a bit.

One last little bit...I often get asked about my hair so I wanted to take a moment to give a very well deserved shout out to not only my best hair gal, but also the salon itself as it is a danger zone in the best kind of way imaginable!  If you live in or around the Lexington area, I HIGHLY recommend the lovely Shawnee at Voce on Clay Avenue.  The gal took my hair from THIS to what you see now with zip notice and only having blown out my hair previously.  She is such a doll, beyond hip with amazing technique, and listens to her clients which I just love.  As for Voce, it is the swankiest little joint in the heart of one of the cutest strips in Lexington.  But better than it's decor, stylists, and interiors...there is a stinkin' boutique within the salon!  A boutique loaded down with Rebecca Minkoff, CC Skye, J Brand, Current Elliot, Twelth Street by Cynthia Vincent just to name a few.  It goes without saying, I tend to get into a little trouble every 6 weeks!  Y'all make it a good one!

Think Pink

pants & blouse (GAP 30% off Today), blazer (Aqua--Bloomingdales), heels (Charles Jourdan--similar), belt (Target), shades (colors in optiCS), bracelet (Jennifer Zeuner, Voce on Clay, Lexington or HERE), ring (Lagos), clutch (Adele of Lexington, KY)

At first glance, you may feel pigeon holed by these Pink Trousers and think their pairings might be limited.  Quite the contrary; however, as I have paired these lovelies with quite a bit in the few weeks I've had them.
My favorite Striped Blazer made for a sharp ensemble, while a Cozy Grey Sweatshirt & Leopard Skimmers have a chic, relaxed feel.  How cute would they look with a Classic Camel Coat?  A pant that gives you multiple pairings equals the perfect pant for me!
PS:  the sweatshirt, skimmers, and coat are ALL 20% off at SHOPBOP with code WEAREFAMILY.  I've got some major goodies in my cart indeed!  Y'all make it a good one!

Cozy Stripes

blazer (J.Crew), blouse (GAP--sold out, alternate HERE), scarf (GAP), jeans (Paige), boots (Frye), bag (Lauren Merkin, Voce on Clay in Lex, KY), bracelet & watch (J.Crew), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Lagos)
Granted, my husband asked me upon wearing this scarf, "What, did you pull a muscle in your neck?"...I can't help but adore a good, cozy Infinity Scarf.  The fact it's in a prepster stripe---even better!  I actually wore this sucker to the pumpkin patch with the babes this weekend with a coordinating stripe sweatshirt, and it was quite cozy and cute.   One other tidbit, I tend to consider stripes in a navy palette neutral.  You can pair em' with polkadots, complementing stripes, checks, leopard, and floral..."infinite" options, indeed!  Y'all make it a good one!

Striped Fur

vest (BB Dakota, see similar), tee (J.Crew), skinnies (Paige Denim), booties (Belle by Sigerson Morrison), bracelets (J.Crew & CC Skye Love THIS), clutch (Adele of Lexington), ring (Lagos), watch (Cartier), shades (Michael Kors)
As I hastily type out today's post, I'm in between my daughter's Parent Teacher Conference, desperately trying to sneak in a Pure Barre workout from my gal Mandy (my Husband bought damn Krispy Kremes last night and the donuts won, dangit), tying up work's loose ends, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of my mom's flight in from Florida--good grief, I am so excited for a little dose of home! It's amazing what a visit from my mom can do for my soul--not to mention we are so stinkin' productive tackling my To Do list like nobody's business!
On a more fashionable note, it was NIPPY here this week in the BlueGrass--truly!  Chilliness gave me the perfect excuse to whip out my fur vest--so cozy, warm, and chic--I just love it as a topper.  Try to think outside the box and pair it with something other than black to spruce it up a bit--you'd be amazed all that fur complements!  Y'all have a wonderful weekend!
