A Tale of Two Bikes

pants (Kate Spade, AJ's Casuals), blouse (Library by Lauren Lail c/o, also love THIS CREAM TOP & THIS CREAM PEPLUM), shoes (Isola ON SALE c/o), bag (Vintage, Street Scene, Lexington), shades ( Gucci ), cuff (Similar), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

While this look as zero to do with bicycles, Kristin and I kinda loved them for the backdrop of these Kate Spade Pants (not to mention they were parked right outside of our fave lunch joint, Doodles, where we shortly thereafter devoured sammies and such).  Based on this POST, there's no denying my current love of the palm frond---it simply screams summer and is such a fresh print--I have no doubts I'll own several palm pieces by the season's end.
Got a boatload to get to today so I must cut the post a tad short--feel free to shop the look below (tossed in a few extras of this print)!  Y'all have a great weekend & def make it a good one!

Get Comfy

dress (Sundry, Omar + Elsie, other muscle dresses HERE and HERE), necklace (AJs Casuals), sneaks (Converse, sans studs HERE), personalized camo (c/o my best gal, Jenny, see other CAMO HERE), cuff (Similar), shades (Ray Ban Green Lenses), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

May I introduce to you the comfiest, coziest cotton tshirts & dresses I've owned to date?  SUNDRY is churning out some of my absolute fave cotton numbers.  Loose fitting and yet still flattering and oh so comfy makes them pretty much perfect in my book.  Luckily for us Lexingtonians, Omar + Elsie has a crazy good selection of Sundry--out-of-towners be sure to check out some current craves below.  On that same note, if out of town (non-Lex), and loving this necklace from AJs Casuals as much as I do, give the gals a call and they'll ship their baubles out of state!  Alright gang, cheers to a wonderful Tues--make it a good one.

Stripes & Bells

blouse (DVF c/o AJs Casuals other stripes HEREHERE, or HERE), jeans (Marc Allison c/o see other bells HERE), clutch (Clare Vivier, Omar + Elsie, also available HERE), heels (Zara, see similar HERE), cuff (SIMILAR want 2 of these bad boys), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), necklace (Page Sargisson see Similar), shades (Ray Ban)

Per my Insta Preview, this is and always will be my favorite combo.  Leopard and Stripes are forever a 'do' in my book.  Add a pair of Bells and we've got a look that is definitely at the top of my list.  It's easy and effortless, yet polished and pulled together---classic combo indeed.  Speaking of classic, out of the norm for me to post something on the weekend, but be sure to check out my Classic Weekender Look from Saturday--the TOTE is definitely one of my current faves.  Alright gang, feel free to peruse the look below and cheers to a wonderful start to your week!  Make it a good one!

Sweet Summertime

shirt (HM, see similar stripes HERE), shorts (Old Navy), belt (J.Crew see similar HERE), bag (Sole Society c/o love THIS SPOTTED GAL & THIS ONE TOO), sneaks (Vans), cuff (see Similar), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (J.Crew), shades (Gucci), necklace (Page Sargisson, love THIS)

Kicking off the first official day of summer with a quintessential weekender look.  A set of STRIPES, crisp white SHORTS, and a TOTE that could fit some goodies for an overnight getaway, your daily summer essentials, or maybe some farmer's market finds all scream sweet summertime.  No shocker here I'm an avid lover of stripes and dangit y'all I am sorry for the repetitive color palette, but lately I cannot stop with the black and white (see A and B)--I have to say; however, I like the freshness a Brown Belt adds to this classic combo (I PROMISE color will be a comin' next week).  As for the Kicks, well, let's just say I live in my sneaks all summer long!  Cheers to a fantastic start to your summer---hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Fun and Flounce

skirt (Cynthia Rowley, Omar + Elsie, available online HERE), shirt (Zara sold out, super affordable options HERE & HERE), heels (Kate Spade see similar HERE & HERE), clutch (Asos sold out, see similar splurge HERE save HERE), necklaces (two target necklaces doubled up, try TWO of THESE), cuff (see SIMILAR), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Gucci)

Balance.  This crop thing has got to be all about balance.  We've got some leg and a hint of midriff going on here so we've got to balance her out by covering up the arms and chest and tossing on a sleek pair of close toed metallic heels (open toed would be too tart for my taste).  The black and white palette keeps the rig modern and sleek while the Ruffle Skirt adds a playful element.  Another way to balance the crop is by pairing a Matching Crop and Midi Skirt Set (some stem coverage but showing off the arms).  Oh and a little trick I used in this look and this POST from forever ago---make your Inexpensive Baubles stand out a bit more and appear more 'substantial' by doubling them up--they're affordable enough you can splurge on two!  Alright gang--y'all have a lovely weekend and a VERY sincere Thank You for your kind comments regarding my Casa--much appreciated indeed!

Where the Heart Is

pillows, window treatments, accessories--mantle, coffee table, bookshelves (Adele of Lexington),
lucite coffee table ( CB2 similar HERE), jeans (7FAM see similar HERE), sweater (Lilla P c/o), belt (J.Crew old see Similar), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), bracelets (Morton James, Omar + Elsie, Kate Spade), necklace (Gorjana c/o)

girls bedding & Hedgehog/Racoon (Land of Nod), C Pillow (Serena & Lilly love THIS MONOGRAMMED PILLOW), girls' twin beds (Land of Nod), bp sheets (Nate Berkus), mirror nightstand (West Elm), sunburst mirror (Z Gallerie), pink rug (Land of Nod), lucite entryway table (CB2)

Long Post Alert (brace yourself)----You know, during the course of my divorce last year, I felt VERY strongly about needing a fresh start for the girls and myself.  Trust me, I loved our home what with all its space (read:  closet), function, storage, etc, but I know myself and when one chapter of my life closes--it is sealed shut in every sense of the word.  The gals and I were in the market for a new adventure and there is the most charming and quaint neighborhood in Lexington that I knew would be just perfect for us.  Here's the kicker, unless you're prepared to gut the hell outta one of the character homes (which I was not) that occupies this neighborhood, you're going to be sacrificing previously said space and function (which is why unless I can work a miracle and convert my garage, y'all will never see my closet).  But being able to walk to restaurants, grocery stores, ice cream shops, parks and have a slew of the girls' friends within walking distance of us was invaluable and well, screw the space, right?  So rewind to last year when I had this blank canvas of a space with a fresh coat of Paint on the walls and more or less needed to accessorize the entire space.  I have made the mistake in the past of furnishing everything all at once only to realize 6 months later I actually wasn't all that fond of the pieces I originally chose.  So I knew I wanted this to be a process, a room by room situation if you will, and I also knew I needed to enlist the help of a pro.  Funny enough, I can put an outfit together in my sleep, but outfitting a home ain't my forte--I know exactly what I like, can pick out the accessories, colors, etc, but have no dang clue where to place everything.
Enter Meghann from Adele.  I had seen her work many a time before and absolutely adored it (just check out the way she curates the shop and you'll be in love)!  I approached her about helping me start small with pillows, curtains, and bookshelf accessories--and this is what I love about Meghann, she just kinda gets it--she gets you--she got a read on me and what I wanted right out of the shoot.  She knew I was in Single Momville and was in no position to be forking over thousands and thousands of dollars all in one fell swoop and I needed to pace myself.  And so with the description I gave her of, "I want some Florida.  I want airy and inviting.  I want girly.  I want flamingos,"  she worked her magic and gave me my light, airy, girly, and cozy living room--with flamingos.  Consider this phase 1 and next we are venturing into my bedroom which is currently a mix of this and that--cozy enough but I need a little more flow.  The girls' rooms also will get the Meghann facelift in due time but for now, Land of Nod outfits their nests.  Which, by the way, if you're really on a budget, Meghann will consult and do an online design with you---for instance, she just helped a client with resources such as Pottery Barn, West Elm, and the like.  She can also work her magic virtually so if you're non Kentuckian, don't fret, she can do what she does from afar.
Few little reminders, Fabric and Wallpaper are 25% off suggested retail ALWAYS.  And if not in the market for an abode update, remember Adele is chock full of jewels, gifts, and baby (see HERE).  Mention s + s and receive 15% off full price items.
Hope y'all have enjoyed a little mini tour of our nest--stay tuned for more pics as we move through the decorating process.  And also, if you see something specifically pictured above that I did not link, please shoot me a comment and I'll let you know where it's from--did my best but with all the deets, I'm sure I missed a few!  Cheers to a wonderful week, gang!
