dress (Boulee, Morton James Lexington), heels (Sophia Webster limited sizes avail HERE, more sizes for more jingle available HERE), clutch (Asos sold out, similar HERE, HERE, great deal HERE), shades (Gucci), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), bracelets (Coordinates available at Omar + Elsie, Kate Spade) I'm noticing a little habit developing in my looks these days....Long Sleeved Dresses and an endless supply of black and white (examples 1, 2, 3). No clue why considering it is basically summer and colors, sleeveless, and the like are all the rage but sometimes I find black and white are equally as fresh and seasonally appropriate as the vibrant hues. Not to mention they essentially flatter everyone. Friendly reminder to follow along Morton James' Instagram for fantastic OOTD inspiration--they're responsible for the lovely frock pictured above as well as a handful of other fave pieces in my arsenal. Alright gang, hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We indeed did but it is back to the grind we go---make it a good one!
Rest assured while the stinkin' blouse pictured is no longer avail (bought on sale from ASOSlate last year), I'll give you all a dose of bows below that will hopefully make up for this shirt's unavailability. But aside from the bow and my love for its utter femininity, the moral of this post's story is that simple and classic looks can be amped up just a notch with touches of detail. Case in point, all this look is, is jeans and a white blouse--simple, everyone has them in their closet, utterly classic. But by pairing them with what I believe to be a fabulous HEEL (and hold the damn phone, how sick is this PAIR), a distressed JEAN, and maybe a dainty bow blouse like THIS, you sorta separate your typical jeans & blouse look from the pack. For me that's what it's all about, keeping the silhouettes relatively classic, and adding elements of detail to make the look all your own.
Quick tidbit for those that are somewhat DIY challenged like myself--I own 3 pairs of theseJEANS (hence them being in about 80% of my posts), and I wanted to shorten one of the pairs so instead of taking them to my seamstress like I typically do, I just trimmed the ends and left them au nautural--took me all of 2 mins and I love the frayed edges--gives them just a little extra umph.
Alright gang, have a great start to your week---I've gotta Dallas Detox--such a great great weekend in an amazing venue with a really fabulous group of gals...we'll chat more about that later for sure. But for now, make it a good one and check out some bows below:
My gals and I are enjoying our little pre-Spring Break to the fullest (hence the delay in posts--sorry gang--caught up in the relaxation)! Prior to dipping outta Lexington, I knew I wanted to refresh my spring wardrobe with some beachy prepster threads. Thankfully Lexington has a Lilly Pulitzer signature store that I just adore---The Peppermint Palm. Overflowing with a quintessential Palm Beach vibe, I feel transported back home every time I step foot in there (lucky for s + s, they also just so happen to be one of s + s' newest sponsors)! Definitely dig the Buttercup Shorts and their flirty scalloped hem (see also HERE). Check out some of my fave scallopsHERE & HERE. Alright gang, make it a good one---I'm planning on celebrating the nuptials of one of my dearest friends from my Fort Lauderdale days and soaking up the last few days of sun before we head back home!
PS--huge thanks to my fave Floridian photog, Lindsey Potter, for snapping these pics. She is such a gem to work with, so dang talented, and captures our hometown just beautifully! Thanks Miss Lindsey!
blouse (J.Crew on SALE), skirt (J.Crew on SALE), heels (Kate Spade), bag (Galian c/o), necklace (Pink Pineapple c/o), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (Cartier) So I've always been a fan of tone on tone dressing and this navy & baby blue ensemble is no exception. For my 9 to 5 day gig, I'm always looking for rigs that have a bit of personality and don't bore both myself and my clients to tears. This Blouse definitely serves up a bit of quirk and the Chunky Pearls and emerald green bag add just the right amount of accessorized details. Even though there's some personality tossed in there, I think we've managed to maintain some ladylike professionalism, right? All about balance in my book! Ok gang, if you're following along Instagram, you know my little ladies and I are on a little Floridian rendezvous and loving every minute of it. Y'all make it a great one--taking the babes with me to "work" tomorrow on a blog shoot with my fave Floridian photog, Lindsey Potter, so stay tuned for some fun beachy looks!
