Quintessential Bluegrass weather here as of late--chilly, windy, wet--kinda dreary and yet oh so fall. So really there is no better time to bust out the Wellies than this time of year. Other quintessential fall pieces? The Oversized Turtleneck and infamous Plaid Scarf (love this BLANKET PLAID, too). All pair together perfectly and are so very cozy. It's all about the Blanket Scarf as of late so I've got some goodies listed below....alright gang, y'all have a great day and make it a good one!
After doing this POST the other week, I got a lot of questions regarding the WELLIES...are they comfy? do you wear them often? are they good in the snow in addition to the rain? are they worth the jingle? and the answer is, "YES...absolutely!" So I wanted to share a little wellie mashup of how I sport my Hunters but also include some more affordable options below...which good grief, how cute are THESE STRIPES and THESE SPOTS? But truly, you'll see me sporting mine all throughout the fall & winter--I'll wear them to work, to workout (we only sport socks in Pure Barre), while on mom duty--you name it, I sport 'em. The key to keep your pigs warm in the winter is to wear THESE SOCKS--they get the job done indeed. And if anyone is feeling ultra glam and splurge worthy, THESE STUDS are so dope, seriously.
Alright gang, hope this helped with some of your wellie dilemmas--you all enjoy your Tuesday....it is beyond gorg here in the Bluegrass. Fall is indeed upon us! Make it a great one!
We had a few days of solid rain several weeks ago and well, nothing serves and protects during those dismal days quite like a pair of WELLIES (I've got THESE FELLAS on my radar). But the other piece I'm loving during these transitional months is without a doubt a UTILITY JACKET--I actually just snagged a NAVY ONE and I'm repeating the hell outta it already. It's the perfect weight for just a bit of chill and it will pretty much go with everything be it casual or even dressy--tomboys it up a bit.
On another note---I swear to you--seeing these pics of my shaggy mane makes me want to without a doubt dye my hair crazy blonde and go for THIS...even though I have made my friends solemnly swear to never let me do THIS ever, ever, and I mean ever again--I can just feel it coming on--I cannot stand the shagginess and I've got the itch to do a little something drastic. Maybe it will pass, but something tells me once my gal gets back from tying the knot...I could take the plunge.
But despite my hair quandary, you all have a fantastic start to your week! Sending my sis back to FLA after a truly wonderful visit--I needed a dose of home! Make it a good one, gang!
These looks almost didn't make the cut, but then I thought, each one has a piece that I truly love and think everyone needs for the chill--hence, The Mashup (winter addition). First and foremost, the Hunter Wellie. I love these classics so darn much, so much so that I have them in 3 shades. You will see me sporting these guys many a day in the winter--the perfect barrier from snow & rain. Second runner up, a good batch of gloves. So here is my annual ritual once the fall is upon us, I stock up on a bevy of these $1.99 suckers from Target year after year (because they will pill by season's end)....snip the tips for touch screen access, and voila! Lastly, aLeopard Coat...it is the perfect topper over a relaxed fit t-shirt, stripes, a bright splash of hot pink, or even a cocktail ensemble. So while these shots almost hit the chopping block, I'm glad I spared em' --although I am taking serious note on the leopard coat shot to never, ever miss my 6 week haircut appt--good grief, Shaggy! Shawnee, I'm coming for you Friday, kid!
