Fun and Flounce

Balance.  This crop thing has got to be all about balance.  We've got some leg and a hint of midriff going on here so we've got to balance her out by covering up the arms and chest and tossing on a sleek pair of close toed metallic heels (open toed would be too tart for my taste).  The black and white palette keeps the rig modern and sleek while the Ruffle Skirt adds a playful element.  Another way to balance the crop is by pairing a Matching Crop and Midi Skirt Set (some stem coverage but showing off the arms).  Oh and a little trick I used in this look and this POST from forever ago---make your Inexpensive Baubles stand out a bit more and appear more 'substantial' by doubling them up--they're affordable enough you can splurge on two!  Alright gang--y'all have a lovely weekend and a VERY sincere Thank You for your kind comments regarding my Casa--much appreciated indeed!

While I normally like to sport my vests casually (see HERE & HERE), I also love the idea of jazzing them up a bit with some heels.  It's all about the juxtaposition for me--balancing casual with dressy suits my style best.  I'll also never deny my love for a good print mix--this VEST allows for options galore in the way of print mixing. Because in my book, stripes are always a neutral!  Alright gang, make it a good one--it is FFRReezing here in Lex--stay warm!

Little balance of soft vs hard going on here.  Here's the thing I'm loving about this SKIRT, it's giving me the perfect mix of feminine vs edge.  Y'all know I can only do edge so far without looking like a complete moron so this faux is the ideal combo for me.  And while my love affair with BLACK & BLUE still carries over from last year, she may take a little back burner to black & emerald green.  Since snagging this tote at FABB, I've paired it with a boatload of looks (see MY FAVE HERE).  So there's my personal rec, if you're looking to add a hue into your winter arsenal, why not take emerald on for size?  Make it a good one, gang...cheers to a wonderful weekend!

I am SO BUMMED THESE SHORTS are sold out!!  The good news is; however, Asos does restock their items so you have my word I will keep an eye out for you.  I did spot THESE CANDY COLORED STRIPES as a fun alternative as well as some other graphic stripes below.  Technically you could say there's a lot going on in this rig, but the graphic black & white and METALLIC HEELS keep it crisp and not overbearing.  And don't be so quick to pack up your shorts as the weather starts to transition to fall.  You'll find they make for a perfect pairing with casual SWEATERS. Navy on Navy

I'm having a major love affair with navy right now.  I mean really, it's always been there, but it's at an all time high currently.  It's kind of ridiculous considering color is all the rage this spring--don't worry gang, I'll cheat on neutrals soon enough!  Pattern mixing is still going strong this spring and my advice when doing a stripe pairing--make one more subdued than the other (ie: the tank under the bold striped jacket).  

Two other orders of business.  Numero uno, I 'think' I've decided to grow out the locks--just to a chin length shaggy bob--so this serves as your warning--horrible hair days to follow!  Have you ever grown out a hair cut this short?  It is horrid, gang, truly--you want to grab scissors on the daily (which I'm not saying I won't do, but I'm going to try my darndest to push through the ugly).
