Fresh Floral

dress (Zara), bag (vintage, Street Scene, Lexington), shoes (Nine West), watch (Michael Kors), necklace (Maya Brenner), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Lagos)
Easy, Breezy, & Floral...doesn't get more spring/summer than that.  No doubt this Maxi will carry me through September.  Casual enough for an early evening out with the gals but dressy enough for an outdoor summer wedding, maxi dresses are the perfect versatile piece for the warmer months.  Check out other maxis having their moment below.  You all enjoy your Wednesday & make it a good one!

Bows & Dots

top (C.Major, AJs Casuals, Lexington), skirt (J.Crew oldie, OBSESSED with THESE DOTS), heels (Zara), bag (Michael Kors), belt (target), bracelets (J.CrewStella & Dot), watch (Michael Kors), shades (colors in optiCS), ring (Lagos & Anna Beck)
And with the click of one button, my shopping freeze came to an abrupt end--it was THIS Rebecca Minkoff purse that resulted in my failure, damnit!!  I lasted a measly 7 days...what a crock--I don't know what in the Sam Hell I was thinking trying to implement such a thing!  I'm still doing my best to utilize what I've already got hanging in my closet such as the pencil skirt above (seen last year HERE).  Paired with this C.Major bow blouse from AJs Casuals, and you've got a great feminine look for daytime.  Alright, gang, make it a good one--it's soggy here in the Bluegrass so stay dry Lexingtonians!

Floral Gets Vintage

dress (vintage, Street Scene, Lexington ), necklace (Adele of Lexington), shoes (Zara), bag (Michael Kors), cuff (unknown), ring (Lagos), watch (Cartier), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Anna Beck)
Note to self:  When you're attempting to do a 21 Day NO Shopping Spree don't go to the damn mall!  Granted it was to help my gal, KT, pick out some threads for an upcoming project that I'm all too excited to share with you all--but nonetheless, I think there are claw marks in J.Crew from her having to tear me outta there!

But enough of the inevitable cave on my personal challenge, onto the vintage goodness. A few posts ago, I spoke of my Baseball Vintage Find & my day vintage shopping with oh so fabulous Suzy.  Seriously, she is one of those women you are immediately drawn to, could listen to for hours, cultured & traveled out the wazoo, would totally pillage to get a hold of her closet, should be intimidated by and yet she's beyond down to earth & feel like she's been your friend for ages.  She's downright fab in all the right ways!  I developed my crush upon her accidentally introducing s + s on camera as, "Seersucker + SaddleBAGS,"  how could I not instantly love this woman?  It was she who spotted the frock above, and with an amazing seamstress, I envisioned what the dress could be (a slightly edgy June Cleaver don't you think).  And there it is---why I reclaimed my love of vintage.  It calls for a vision and creativity.  It allows you to make a piece all your own---totally one of a kind.  Not to mention the thrill of the hunt is so fun, and I would be remiss if I didn't tell you this frock was under $20 (thank you Street Scene).  How do you all feel about vintage--into it, not so much?  Would love to hear--I hope to have a little video of our day here in the next few weeks!  Alright, gang, make it a good one & have a fantastic weekend!

Work Mixup

blazer (J.Crew ON SALE), blouse (J.Crew ON SALE), skirt (J.Crew old, SIMILAR), shoes (J.Crew oldies), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), ring (Anna Beck), bracelets (J.Crew ), shades (Ray Ban )
Totally unintentional to be head to toe J.Crew, but truth be told, it does occupy a good bit of real estate in my closet. This outfit (coupled with a geek out evening of watching Suze Orman--I know but she sucks you in) got me inspired to try a little something that many of us have tried (myself excluded).  With the exception of this Blazer, which I got on major sale, the majority of this look came from things already existing in my closet.  Ole' Suze said it takes 21 days to break a habit and well, I've had a pretty naughty habit here lately of shopping entirely too much!  Sooo, I'm saying it here so I have some element of accountability, I am going to give it a go and not buy one unnecessary thing for myself for the next 21 days (I think I just teared up a bit).  And by unnecessary I mean the bathing suit I've been clocking for a few days (this one too, damnit), or the heavy shopping cart on J.Crew I've had sitting there for a day (including THESE & THIS), these SANDALS, or THESE FANTASTIC RED SHADES!?!?!   I feel a smidge better having said it out loud, but still--this is going to be a major challenge for moi (it'sridiculous, I know---but clothes have always been my vice--obviously, I have a fashion blog for pete's sake).  So I am already 4 days in (started on the 1st)--fingers crossed and wish me luck!  You can shop the look above down yonder (someone outta have some fun, right)--Make it a good one, gang!  PS:  I think the no shopping admission in this post has me breaking out into hives!

Distressed Prep

blazer (Zara), jeans (7FAM, love THESE), shirt (J.Crew, cute option HERE), shoes (Luxury Rebel), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (J.Crew), necklace (J.Crew, loving THIS), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Anna Beck)
If someone told me to throw on an outfit that best describes my style---this one would be a top contender.  How can you not love a classic button down, blazer, jeans combo?  The navy & kelly green is perfectly prepped and the distressed jeans adds a slight bit of edge.  Baubles and ballets give me that feminine dose I need in my rigs and a Structured Tote tops it off just so.  If ever in a pinch getting ready in the morning, this is an easy go to that can be substituted with Shorts if it's too warm for jeans.  Alright gang, enjoy your day & make it a good one!
