If y'all have been following along for a bit, you know this is more or less my uniform.  A Button Down, Jeans, and Converse--she's no fail.   Hopefully the stripe & floral print mix spruced it up a bit for you and avoided inducing boredom.  And while the Chucks tomboy it up, the cluster of Pearls does a good job balancing out the 'boy.  Speaking of boy, remember I chatted about loving a Men's Button Down?  Well this Striped Oxford  is no exception (and for the price, come on now).   Moral of today's story, she's a good kick-it-kinda-rig for a Friday (or any day really).  

Cheers to a fantastic weekend---gonna soak up the last few days of my mom's visit.  Hate sending her back to the Sunshine State--we just love having her around!  Make it a good one, gang!

Too Cool For School

Gonna go out on a limb and say that Kentucky is one of the earliest school start dates---next friggin' Wednesday.  Not ready.  Don't wanna.  Please summer don't be over just yet.  But alas, there's no stopping this train.  Gals and I are more or less geared up with our goodies (Chase picked out THESE, THESE, and THESE tonight)....and while I'm moaning a bit, I'm super thankful my girls have to wear uniforms.  Chasey girl is easy breezy in the wardrobe department (tomboy times ten), but Cam..good grief...it's like a dang runway everyday with her so uniforms they are most welcome indeed!  While in search of the perfect Kindergarten and 3rd grade backpacks and sneaks...I stumbled across too many cute threads to not toss together a little 'first day of school' collage.  After all, it is one of the more memorable fashion days of the school year, no?  Kindergarten 198*--purple polo with a hot pink horse, denim skirt, slip on keds, smurf lunchbox, cast on my broken left arm, two braids---remember it as plain as day.  Why they didn't have Backpacks this Cool back in my day is beyond me...I'm thinking I sported some horrendous army green Jansport nonsense---I'll have to enlist Brooke and Tiff to confirm.  Alright gang, be sure to check out some threads for the tykes below--make it a good one!

It's 1:30 am as I type this and sister is having a MAJ-OR case of writer's block.  Good grief.  Started the sentence out with a damn snore of an opener and  I just gotta own up to the fact that I've been up since 5:45 this morn--and I am not worth much right about now.  So let's see how simplified (read:  boring)  I can keep this write up---
1.  Newsflash--I love a print mix
2.  Currently digging a Crop (This Sucker is $10)
3.  God love the Midi for concealing all the nonsense we'd like to hide and positively highlighting the waistline
4.  I'm gonna be a dang crabapple tomorrow (sorry, M)

Whenever I'm in what I like to call "Mom Mode," be it chauffeuring the kiddies around, doing school activities, heading to sports events, bday parties, you name it---a look such as this totally fits the bill.  Three ingredients are serving up this look just right in my book--first you've got yourself a fun Graphic Tee and then two pieces that can always add a little hipster polish to a look, the Hightop and Denim Vest.  The vest is the perfect layering piece and the sneaks add a comfy and fun vibe to the look.  Moms, just because we are being pulled (literally) in 80 gazillion directions doesn't mean we don't want to look pulled together, right?  Keep a uniform on hand for when you've got to scoot out the door stat--one like this is always my go to!  

Alright gang, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend---we explored the beautiful horse farms and orchards here in Lexington and it was simply perfect!  Cheers to a great start to your week.

When I spotted this Hayden Reis Tote, sucker had to be mine.  Reminding me of afternoons on the boat with my dad as a child, this Tote Made From Sailcloth is not only adorable, but is crazy functional AND virtually indestructible by way of rain, sand, etc.  She's available locally at Monkee's or online HERE (my gals especially love these precious Sea Shell Pouches, although let's not kid ourselves, they're more often than not used for squinkies, barbies, and other sheer kid randomness).  

Few quick tidbits...favorite pool/beach coverup of the moment...a Men's Button Down--super lightweight and roomy enough for my liking, I sport them constantly!  Secondly, when trying to find a "similar" for my J.Crew suit pictured above, stumbled on some Superb Bathing Suit Sales (think spots, stripes, and anchors).  Lastly, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends on 8/3-so if you're lounging indoors today--take a gander at My Picks HERE.  Ok, think that about sums it up for our Saturday---hope you all enjoy the outdoors be it dockside, beachside, poolside, or farmside like we plan to do (my Floridian mother wants a little 'farm' infused in her visit so we're going berry picking with the little ladies).   Y'all enjoy your weekend and make it a good one!  Feel free to shop some totes and swim below!
