How about the fact that this Lace Lovely is only $15?  One would think the quality would be horrendous, but I have to say, I've had this for over a year now (see HERE), and it's still in tip top shape (also own the NAVY VERSION, too).  And a classic CHAMBRAY?  Definitely an item every gal should have in their arsenal--maybe even two washes if you're so inclined.  Alright gang, cheers to a wonderful holiday weekend with your family and friends...we've got some bbq's, pool time, and fireworks with pals on the agenda.  But first, before I dip, can we discuss some of the phenomenal sales that I will no doubt be taking advantage of this weekend (with a certain level of restraint..hopefully)?  Take a gander below:

Happy Memorial Day, gang!  I love this holiday for a slew of reasons.  Most importantly, for what it represents and showing gratitude & remembrance for those who have served and continue to do so.  Secondly, it kicks off my favorite season of the year & welcomes a more relaxed state of mind.  My girls are out of school, the hustle and bustle has simmered, and vacations are right around the corner!  And then there's the fashion--easy, breezy, classic, fresh, & all Americana--these typify summer in my book--as does the above rig.  A short sleeved chambray & a white lace skirt can be worn all throughout the season in a number of ways--I feel comfy & pulled together in this look which are two main criteria for my rigs.  Alright, gang, check out some sales going on this holiday weekend along with some pieces I'm clocking below from C.Wonder, J.Crew, & Shopbop.  The kiddies and I are off to relax & celebrate at the pool (in all my pale glory) with friends--make it a great one!

Loving the idea of a tone on tone look with this blush lace skirt (last seen in navy HERE).  It's such a pretty pale pink that could possibly get lost with another color pairing (although I do love the idea of a gray or cream silky blouse with a nude peep toe heel).  I was quite tempted to pair this look with Chucks; however, I wanted to keep the lady like factor with a peep toe heel.  One last quick note, I'm currently adoring the idea of tossing on various necklaces---pearls, gold chains, and this Gray Leather & Rhinestone necklace make a fun statement when paired together.  Alright gang, make it a good one!

I'm having a major love affair with navy right now.  I mean really, it's always been there, but it's at an all time high currently.  It's kind of ridiculous considering color is all the rage this spring--don't worry gang, I'll cheat on neutrals soon enough!  Pattern mixing is still going strong this spring and my advice when doing a stripe pairing--make one more subdued than the other (ie: the tank under the bold striped jacket).  

Two other orders of business.  Numero uno, I 'think' I've decided to grow out the locks--just to a chin length shaggy bob--so this serves as your warning--horrible hair days to follow!  Have you ever grown out a hair cut this short?  It is horrid, gang, truly--you want to grab scissors on the daily (which I'm not saying I won't do, but I'm going to try my darndest to push through the ugly).
