Stripes Done Twice

look 1:  shirt, shorts, vest, belt (J.Crew HERE, HERE), chucks (Converse),  shades (Ray Ban), bag (Louis Vuitton), watch (Michael Kors), rings (Anna Beck & Lagos)
look 2:  belt (J.Crew), necklaces (BaubleBar), flats (Luxury Rebel)
Hi Gang!  Sorry for the disappearing act this week---hectic one indeed!  Back in full swing with a favorite striped tee of mine that I paired two different casual ways.  One a little more feminine, the other a little more sporty--either way, I love a good stripe!  Alright, I've got to dip again--my gals' bday party is late this afternoon and I've got some prep ahead of me!  Y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Tweed on Repeat

jacket (Zara), pants (Alexander Wang), tee (unknown boutique find), heels (J.Crew on SALE 30% off), clutch (Kate Spade), shades (Gucci), bracelet (Stella & Dot), ring (Lagos)
Safe to say I totes love black & blue as a couple.  They just feel quite modern and crisp when paired together. Not to be outdone by another couple I adore, Tweed & Leather (other version HERE) is another fave combo of mine.  Needless to say, quite the happy gal when these two forces joined.  Care to see another way she's styled...check it HERE.
Y'all make it a good one....headed to Florida next week so major prep taking place this weekend--traveling with two bunnies is not to be taken lightly!

Wishing you all the happiest of Thanksgivings with loads of quality time with your family and friends.  I will be taking a little blogging sabbatical to soak up some QT with my little ladies & hubs. See y'all next week--Happy Thanksgiving!

Distressed Trench

trench (Zara--similar), tee (HM), jeans (7 for all Mankind), shoes (Michael Kors--Fun Option HERE), belt (J.Crew), tote (Kooba options HERE & HERE), shades (Michael Kors, necklaces (vintage), watch (Michael Kors), ring (Lagos), bracelets (Asos & Stella & Dot)
Inspired by a spread in this month's Lucky Magazine (with Brit on the cover), the tagline, "Metallics Make Everything Cooler," immediately caught my eye.  I fell in love with the idea because the metallic elements definitely elevate this classic stripe & trench look.   To me, this is what inspiration is all about--dog earring & pinning some lovely looks, perusing your closet, and turning them into your own!  Do tell, where do you look for inspiration?
Y'all have a fantastic weekend....we're getting a little warm spike so I'm sure ours will be spent outdoors.

Summer Stripes Transition

sweater (J.Crew), tee & sandals (J.Crew), shorts & hat (H&M), shades (Michael Kors), ring (Lagos), heart bracelet (Jennifer Zeuner), watch (Michael Kors), necklace (Maya Brenner)
TGIF, gang!  Something about shorts & a sweater feels so Americana to me.  This rig also is a perfect solution to preserving the sense of summer while beginning the transition into fall.  Prep it up with a collared shirt and a fun pair of Chucks!  Or we can make it girly with a lovely blouse and ballet flats.....Ps:  THIS JCREW SWEATER IS $29.99...Take a gander at some other fun options below...ALSO, did y'all see  was featured on International Fashion Bloggers weekly round up?  So very honored--make sure to check her out!  Make it a good one, gang!

Oxford University

blouse (J.Crew similar HERE), skirt (3 dots AJs Casuals, Lexington, KY), satchel (Cambridge Satchel), watch (Michael Kors), bracelet (Stella & Dot), shades (Michael Kors), shoes (Banana Republic)
Morning gang, hope y'all have had a lovely week---been a beauty here in the Bluegrass!  The Oxford Shirt.... man is this sucker versatile.  I know, I tout the word 'versatility' all the stinkin' time, but in this transitional phase we're embarking on season wise, it is of the utmost importance in my opinion.  I promise you all the Oxford Shirt will give you so much bang for your buck year round.  Clearly I'm diggin' it solo.  It is also the perfect layering piece (think under SWEATERSBLAZERSJACKETS, with PRINTED PANTS all buttoned up with a STATEMENT NECKLACE under a folded collar)--such a goodin' with endless options! Crisp, fresh, versatile equals a perfect recipe for a closet staple!  Make it a good one!

Friday Does Casual (Twice)

LOOK 1:  blouse (Zara--solid here), jeans (Jbrand), tote (Botkier), belt (Jcrew),  necklaces (Maya Brenner HERE HERE), shades (Ray Ban), bracelets (CC Skye & Asos spike), watch (Michael Kors)
LOOK 2:  necklace (J.Crew), cardi (J.Crew--cute SALE option), tee & belt (J.Crew), shorts (Joe's Jeans, AJs casuals Lex, KY), ballet flats (DVF), shades (Michael Kors), leather wrap (Adele, Lexington, KY), speedy (Louis Vuitton), ring (Lagos)
Once Friday & the Weekend rolls around, I am definitely ready for a good ole' casual rig.  These two options serve up some casual ease and do so while being stylish & fun!  Loving a little leopard & stripe pairing--adds a fun element of quirk.  Can you tell by 5th shot, Kristin Tatem and I tend to get a little slap happy during our pic sessions--little rascal snapped me loosening up!  Now GIVEAWAY time.....

This certainly was a fun one & rest assured, more Pretty Smitten pieces will be in our Giveaway future!  The winner of this month's Monogram & Milly Giveaway is.....Catherine Combs!!  Congrats, Miss Catherine--please message me with your address & we can discuss the deets on your tray!  A HUGE THANKS for all who participated...I certainly do appreciate it!  More Giveaway Goodness possibly later this month!

Whiteout

blouse, belt, & cardi (Jcrew), jeans (Old Navy--old), watch (Michael Kors), necklace (Lilly Pulitzer c/o Peppermint Palm, Lex KY),  bracelet (Jcrew),  sandals not pictured (Jack Rogers), clutch (Nordstrom), ring (Lagos)
Scroll back a few posts and one thing is pretty darn clear--I do love myself some color!  With that being said; however, I also love pulling a little Switzerland now and again, too!  A neutral palette can certainly compete with the color wheel and do so while making quite a statement.  Here's another obvious bonus--we all have neutrals pieces in our fashion repertoire....so go ahead and grab your creams, tans, grays and the like and see what kind of ensemble you can assemble!
Sidenote--any idea why my husband said I looked like this guy???  What a wise guy!

Skirting the Issue

skirt (Alice + Olivia old...super cute option Jcrew HERE), sweater and jacket (Jcrew), flats (Ann Taylor old, love THESE), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (Jcrew), shades (Ray Ban aviators), clutch (Monkees of Lexington), necklaces (Target)
Yet again another closet remix with this skirt...I'm on a bit of a roll, gang!  When you think about versatility in a garment, a word I believe to be critical when choosing a piece, a number like this fits the bill.  I have paired this striped lovely with a chambray shirt, a check blouse in pink or blue, a pink Tee and Navy Blazer, heels, flats, and sandals.  Popped it with yellow, orange, green, and pink....Truly, you can dress this pup up or down in a multitude of ways and undoubtedly make a statement!

Electric Avenue

sweater, jeans, chambray shirt, belt (Jcrew), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (Jcrew), chucks (Converse)
oh how I love that this 80s color palette has made a comeback!  Who knew neon would be back and dare I say... inoffensively!  I firmly believe you can rock this look head to toe when anchored with neutral pieces.  When I wore this little number, I couldn't help but be happy and have an extra little pep in my step....what more could you ask for in an article of clothing?
