Navy & White, Navy & White

blouse (Aunt's vintage blouse from 70's), blazer (aqua, Bloomingdales sold out, see similar HERE and under $100 option HERE), pants (GAP sold out, love THESE and obsessed with THESE), necklace (Sole Society c/o dig THIS BIB), heels (Kate Spade on SALE), bracelets (Sylvia Benson c/o), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Cartier), rings (David Yurman, Anna Beck), shades (Gucci)

Morning, Gang!  Last night started out as your typical school night with two tykes---homework, dinner, bathtime, mini dance party, the usual routine--but then, you get that call from your best gal, Ashley, who offers to pay you a visit with cocktails in tow (because no Southern gal shows up empty handed).  Then Ashley multiplies into one of my other faves, McKayla, and well--let's just say, this post could have been much more interesting had I chosen to configure it at 1 am when I finally called it a night.  Total gab sesh, listening to jams, "admiring" the fact that my Xmas tree is still up (gasp!  yepper--you know my dirty little secret--cut me some slack would ya, I've been traveling out the wazoo--but honestly, my girlfriends intervened last Jan 31 and took it down for me because quite frankly, a Valentine's tree just isn't cool).  It is hands down, aside from laundry, my most hated thing to do--who's with me?
Enough of that nonsense--happy to be bringing you a fun little work look showcasing yet another one of my "Aunt Me Downs".  This blouse is Morey's from back in the day and I thought the delicacy of it would be a perfect counterpart to these graphic Gap Pants (love THESE TOO).  You truly, truly cannot go wrong with navy--I swear it complements any and everyone and also pairs so beautifully with so many colors--a fave hue indeed!  Alright gang--gotta get my workday in full swing---y'all make it a great weekend and stay warm--5 degrees in the Bluegrass (shoot me)!

Stripes Squared

skirt (Zara ON SALE), shirt (J.Crew see SIMILAR), blazer (J.Crew), heels (Kate Spade), bag (Michael Kors), cuff (unknown), bracelets (Sylvia Benson c/o), rings (Anna Beck, Lagos), shades (Gucci)

Giving y'all a double dose of one of my fave prints (aside from leopard).  This Neoprene Striped Skirt from Zara was on my radar for quite some time and for the price point, I knew I had to snag it.  I also think it would look super cute with a relaxed white tshirt, black leather jacket, and a gaggle of gems around the neck.  Sported this look a few weeks back for work when we had a warm streak and thankfully, since it's frigid as all get out, it will transition beautifully into the spring.   Alright gang, stay warm and make it a good one!

Stars & Stripes

shirt (HM c/o), vest (J.Crew ON SALE), jeans (DL 1961), heels (J.Crew 30% OFF with code GIFTNOW), bag (Michael Kors), rings (David Yurman, Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci), necklace (Maya Brenner), bracelet (Jewelique c/o love THIS)

While I normally like to sport my vests casually (see HERE & HERE), I also love the idea of jazzing them up a bit with some heels.  It's all about the juxtaposition for me--balancing casual with dressy suits my style best.  I'll also never deny my love for a good print mix--this VEST allows for options galore in the way of print mixing. Because in my book, stripes are always a neutral!  Alright gang, make it a good one--it is FFRReezing here in Lex--stay warm!

Specs & Checks

pants (Gap), blouse (Gap, see SimilarSimilar), blazer (J.Crew obsessed with THIS PINK COCOON), belt (J.Crew), bag (Michael Kors), flats (Luxury Rebel diggin' THESETHESE, & THESE), specs (unknown CRAVING THESE), rings (David Yurman, Anna Beck)

Kicking off the work week with a rig I wore to meetings with some of my fave clients (who also tolerate my unconventional office wear).  This look was inspired by one of My Throwbacks.  I've said it here before many a times, but given my uber professional working environment in hospitals & doctors' offices,  I still need to keep the shapes classic; however, that doesn't mean I can't toss in some color and prints to liven up my looks.  I plan on wearing the hell outta THESE PANTS this season be it with Stripes, chunky knits, or other Bright Blazers.  Hope you all have a fantastic start to your week--it is quintessential fall here with leaves falling galore---love it so very much!  Make it a good one!

Nordstrom Rack Take Two

\

look 1:  jacket (RL c/o Nordstrom Rack)
look 2:  skirt (DVF c/o Nordstrom Rack)

So last week I chatted about the new Nordstrom Rack in Louisville & how I was fortunate enough to be sent a gift card to shop my heart out.  Well today I'm putting these suckers to good use showcasing two of my fave finds.  I told you I was thrilled when I found the boy's navy blazer---I have worn it at least 3 times since snagging it.  How fun to pair something so utterly prep with a little camo, right?  Just another friendly reminder to shop your mens' & boys' sections.  I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but I swear I have the best luck when I browse the boys' sections.  I also got a great pair of men's Lacoste shades when there that I am in love with (that post will be up later this week).  And then there's my lovely little DVF skirt--I am so in love with this color and the fit is so spot on.  It's the perfect canvas for a little navy, pink, and of course, some sneaks!  Probably gonna head back there this week prior to my NYC trip for Lucky Fabb and see if I can snag a few more gems--highly recommend my fellow Kentuckians do, too!  Alright gang, make it a good one!

Navy On Navy

pants (HM c/o), blouse (HM c/o), flats (Jeffrey Campbell), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (J.Crew), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Ray Ban)

Quite possibly one of my fave ways to dress for work.  A simple silky style blouse with some trousers and Flats.  It's perfectly pulled together and more importantly, comfy and cool with these insanely high temps!  And I don't believe there to be a better combo than navy & gold---classic & timeless--could wear it for days!  Alright, gang, gotta dip but just a friendly reminder that the Marc Allison Bells Jeans Giveaway ends this evening so make sure to get your entry on!  Make it a good one!

Skirts & Sneaks

vest (Old Navy old, alternatives HERE or HERE), button down (J.Crew), skirt (J.Crew, alternative HERE), shoes (Vans), bag (Michael Kors), bracelets (J.Crew, Stella & DotLinea Pelle), shades (Michael Kors), ring (Lagos), watch (Michael Kors)
No stranger to skirts & sneaks (see HERE), I love the idea of pairing girly with sporty.  Honestly, if I had to classify my style, I would say girly tomboy pretty much fits the bill.  It's when I feel most comfy indeed.  I am on a major run with THESE VANS right now---I have worn the heck outta them here lately (see HERE & HERE).  Headed to NYC this weekend and def plan on walking the streets in these bad boys, too!  Y'all make it a good one!
