Black Loves Blue

I love love the combo of cobalt blue and black.  It screams modern and fresh.  The key is to make sure the blue is bright enough to contrast with the darker hue...serving as a pop.  And just like I mentioned in THIS POST, best foolproof way to elevate a simple look is to add elements of detail.  Case in point, a beanie with a VEIL, a 'leather' legging, add an OTK boot on MAJOR SALE, thanks to DSW, all fit the detail bill.  This look is indeed polished and comfy--a win all the way around in my book!  Alright gang, I'm going to dip and wind down with some cupcakes courtesy of our gal pals, JoyBeth, Brooke, & Anna--y'all have a relaxing evening!  Feel free to shop the look below!

Here's my (simple) formula for elevating a classic black and cream look.  Add elements of detail.  Be it a distressed pair of denim, an oversized scarf, or a pair of buckled booties, details will ALWAYS enhance a relatively simple look and make it less ordinary.  And while, yes, the denim is insanely shredded, the slim fit makes them a perfect pair for a chunky knit.  Normally, I shy away from heeled boots as I'm always on the go with the babes; however, these booties from DSW are serving up a major dose of comfort and style.  Not only do I love the strap/buckle detail, it's the faded black leather that had me sold.  The price isn't too shabby either, but then again, it never is when we're talking DSW.  Alright gang, cheers to a wonderful Tuesday!

Leopard is, was, and forever will be a favorite print of mine.  In the appropriate dosage, it truly can go with just above everything.  Case in point---these Leopard Loafers from DSW.  Classic and comfy, they're elevating several of my favorite black and white looks above and adding an element of fun to a casual Camo look.  For the price and versatility, you kind of can't beat these Leo's--and the fact that they'll carry you from the fall all the way through the spring is just an added bonus.  Sold yet on the Leo's?  You indeed should be.  Alright gang, enjoy your Tuesday---make it a good one!
