Cheers to a fantastic weekend!  We had a quintessential summer evening last night full of fireworks, s'mores, swimming, & catching lightening bugs--couldn't have been more perfect!  This Frock has definitely been put to good use this season (I'm about to toss it on after posting this as a matter of fact).  Enjoy the weekend with your friends & fathers!  Sending lots of love to my wonderful dad---love you Big T--you are the best of the bunch!  Make it a good one!

I think I mentioned in a previous post that these White 7FAM Distressed Jeans will be making some major repeat performances this Spring & Summer---I absolutely LOVE them!  With that in mind, I wanted to show a couple of casual ways to brighten up the white.  Both casual & comfy, either look is perfect for shopping, lunch, days with the kiddos, what have you.  I just love how the white is the perfect canvas for color---speaking of Color, Rachel from Pencil Shavings Studio states she's, "Never met a color she didn't like."  Well said my dear!  I am addictively drawn to her fun pieces be they a tablet case, phone cover, or paper goods---with that in mind, I just had to share the love with you all---we've done a Lucite Tray Giveaway before & well gang, we're gonna do one again!!  Just another way to celebrate tomorrow's anniversary/bday & say Thank You, I am giving away a lucite tray from Pencil Shavings Studio to one s + s reader!  See some of my faves below as well as entry rules:

Navy & Neon

Hi All!  We chatted a few posts ago about my love of Navy...well here she is again, except a little more casual rendition this go around.  Again, just another reason I love this color (and this Skirt for that matter)--you can class her up and yet, you can funk her up with a little shot of neon. I'm thinking of snagging the skirt in cream, too--for the price (and I swear the quality ain't too shabby) you just can't beat it.  Alright, gang, make it a good one!

Vested Leather

It's a wonder Kristin and I even got these shots considering I was being heckled by a passerby...major heckling, like--tossing curse words at me for smiling and not making eye contact with him (I almost think you can see him in my shades), which is why I'm pseudo laughing in the last shot!  Needless to say I found it to be extremely entertaining considering the poor guy was clearly off his meds or still intoxicated from the previous evening!

Onto the rig, yes?  One of my favorite aspects of fall and winter is the abundance of layering--so so good!  What's fun about this little number is you really could reverse the layering (vest on top and leather jacket underneath) OR you could layer with a denim vest or jacket on underneath as well.  While this look has a more urban feel to it, I love pairing this jacket with feminine pieces, too, to toughen her up a bit.  

One last little bit...I often get asked about my hair so I wanted to take a moment to give a very well deserved shout out to not only my best hair gal, but also the salon itself as it is a danger zone in the best kind of way imaginable!  If you live in or around the Lexington area, I HIGHLY recommend the lovely Shawnee at Voce on Clay Avenue.  The gal took my hair from THIS to what you see now with zip notice and only having blown out my hair previously.  She is such a doll, beyond hip with amazing technique, and listens to her clients which I just love.  As for Voce, it is the swankiest little joint in the heart of one of the cutest strips in Lexington.  But better than it's decor, stylists, and interiors...there is a stinkin' boutique within the salon!  A boutique loaded down with Rebecca Minkoff, CC Skye, J Brand, Current Elliot, Twelth Street by Cynthia Vincent just to name a few.  It goes without saying, I tend to get into a little trouble every 6 weeks!  Y'all make it a good one!

Faux leather that is.  Two things I will indefinitely repeat the heck out of this season--the leather legging and a good ole' cozy sweatshirt.  They make for a lovely pairing don't you think?  I like how the fitted toughness of the legging is balanced by the ease of the sweatshirt--not to mention the whole rig is so darn comfortable...truly!

Oxford University

Morning gang, hope y'all have had a lovely week---been a beauty here in the Bluegrass!  The Oxford Shirt.... man is this sucker versatile.  I know, I tout the word 'versatility' all the stinkin' time, but in this transitional phase we're embarking on season wise, it is of the utmost importance in my opinion.  I promise you all the Oxford Shirt will give you so much bang for your buck year round.  Clearly I'm diggin' it solo.  It is also the perfect layering piece (think under SWEATERS, BLAZERS, JACKETS, with PRINTED PANTS all buttoned up with a STATEMENT NECKLACE under a folded collar)--such a goodin' with endless options! Crisp, fresh, versatile equals a perfect recipe for a closet staple!  Make it a good one!

Back Two School

New LunchBox, Backpack, Threads...could only mean one thing...Back to School Shopping!  Hands down one of my most fave times of year as a kid. I can vividly remember getting home with all of my new goodies, laying them out on my bed, and getting down to the business of the "First Day of School Outfit."  Now my big gal is heading back to 1st grade next week and while she wears the standard khaki/polo school uniform, it got me thinking...What would my back to school uniform look like if I was to head back to the hallowed halls of SFHS?  I love the idea of the traditional khaki/collared shirt all buttoned, tucked, and prepster; however, I would definitely spruce her up a bit with bold hues, bags, and baubles!  If I may make a suggestion for a fall staple purchase...the SchoolBoy Blazer.  I have had this one for at least 5 seasons, I never tire of it, it goes with so many darn things, I am definitely getting it in another shade this season--it's just a goodin!  Y'all can shop pieces of the look below if you so choose:

The Barre to The Bar

If you know me, you know I am IN LOVE with Pure Barre, specifically the Lexington PB Studio...been a die hard fan for almost 3 years strong!  I will never be convinced of another workout that is better for the ole' noggin & body....plus, the gals are pretty darn fantastic, too!   With that being said, let us switch gears......

We always see the, "From Day to Night," articles in  mags illustrating how to transition work wear to evening wear....but what about workout wear to evening wear?  The reality is, us ladies don't have enough time in the day to fit it all in and many of us cap our day with a workout, and if we're lucky, some eats & drinks with the ladies post workout.  Let's make our lives a tad easier by throwing a few key pieces** in the tote, tossing em' on over your Lulu, and say "YES" to that invite out with the Gals!
