Minty & Midi

Kinda made out like gangbusters when I paid a visit to Anthropologie located at The Mall at Lexington Green.  Lexingtonians, I don't know 'bout you, but you'll be hard pressed to find me making that treacherous drive over to the mall.  Thankfully, Lexington Green is on the outer banks of the traffic mayhem and therefore, that's where you'll find me doing much of my shopping this holiday season.  Lulu LemonLoft, & Joseph Beth Booksellers (which carries the cutest gifts ever see HEREHERE) just to name a few make up this terribly convenient (think parking) outdoor mall--and then there's Whole Foods which ups the convenience factor exponentially.
But back to the rig--the fluidity of this SKIRT and SCALLOPED BLOUSE make for a perfect pairing.  Speaking of complementary pairs, if you checked out yesterday's POST, you know I'm heavily rotating my Stella & Dot monogrammed necklace.  Layering it with this Chunky Fella is just one of the many ways I've been sporting it.  Check out yesterday's POST for a little discount action on my Stella & Dot.  Alright gang, I linked up a few other necklaces  &  skirts from anthro below because I had a very difficult time choosing while in the store---hopefully y'all have better luck than I!  Alright gang--stay tuned for an 'edits' post later this afternoon--going to be the format from here on out--outfit in the morn, some s + s picks in the p.m.....make it a good one, gang...chat soon!

Get Red

dress (J.Crew see similar HERE and HERE), flats (Loeffler Randall, Omar + Elsie), bag (Clare Vivier, Omar + Elsie, avail online HERE), necklaces (Similar), watch (Michael Kors), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), cuff (Similar)

You know typically, I don't gravitate towards red.  No specific reason other than I have to have just the right shade for my skin tone---the dress above and this Drop Waist are no doubt serving up that universally flattering hue.  Able to be paired with a multitude of shades, I chose to stick with my routine these days and throw in some black--which I have to thank a reader for turning me onto THIS ALTERNATIVE to my necklace above---if you're wanting a little more chunk, snag two!  Once the temps start to dip, I'll try pairing this dress with some Spotted Tights--perfect little transitional number (check out some similar reds below).
Alright gang, I've gotta catch some zzz's--have a busy workday in Cincy tomorrow and then head to Tallahassee to cheer on my Noles later this week--can't wait!  You all have a fantastic start to your Wednesday---make it a good one!

The Spotted Stripes

dress (Old Navy in stores, see similar online HEREHEREHEREHERE, or HERE), bag (Clare Vivier, locally at Omar + Elsie, avail online HERE), flats (Zara, see other black ballets HERE or these adorable Spotted Flats), necklaces (Target--I doubled up two--see similar HERE), shades (Ray Ban), cuff (Similar), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

This is a quintessential high/low look we've got going on.  Taking the "High" route is my absolute favorite Clare Vivier Spotted Tote while rounding out the "Low" is more or less everything else (Rings Excluded).  The stripe dress (Similar), ballet flats, Cuffnecklaces, and Shades combined total less than the Tote itself (hells, the dress alone was only $15)-which to me, is kinda what styling and fashion is all about.  Balance.  Go with what you love.  Invest in key pieces that will take you the distance (and if you follow s + s on Instagram, you know this tote has done just that).  Don't worry about the tag, but rather the fit and feel.  Tips I've definitely had to learn as I've gotten older and see myself purging my dang closet of things I either never wore, or only wore a few times---it's a hard habit to break, but I've learned the hard way!  Oh and remember my little tidbit I shared on This Post, double up your Inexpensive Baubles for a look that's more substantial and statement-making.
I hope everyone had a lovely 4th--I truly had such a wonderful time celebrating with My Babes and dearest friends.  Sad to see the weekend end, but let's cheers to a fabulous start to our July, shall we?  Make it a good one!

The Royal Blues

dress (Tibi, AJs Casuals, Lexington, see other Blues below), heels (J.Crew, loving THESE LEOS ), necklace (AJs Casuals, Lexington), clutch (GiGi New York c/o), bracelets (Cuff, Morton JamesKate Spade, Coordinates Omar + Elsie), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

I wasn't fibbing in This POST when I told you I was having a moment with blue.  As I've stated before, it just screams summer and I'm always going to love a hue that can pair beautifully with multiple other shades.  And while the Seminole in me is dying a little bit inside that I've chosen an orange and blue combo, this necklace from AJs Casuals convinced me to just cool my jets and go with it for the sake of this look.  And I have to say, for a girl that wouldn't dare step foot in this color combo during her college years, I'm currently quite smitten with it.  Check out some other blue hues from Sunday's POST as well as some blue bells below.  Alright gang, cheers to a lovely Wednesday--make it a good one!

Lilac Loves Navy

blouse (Cooper & Ella, Morton James Lexington open back option avail HERE), skirt (On SALE Here), bag (Clare Vivier, Omar + Elsie), belt (Target, see similar HERE), heels (Kate Spade see similar HEREHERE , & Flat Metallics HERE), shades (Gucci), bracelets (Morton James CuffOmar + ElsieKate Spade), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

Wore this get up to work about a month ago and I have to say--it is quite the comfy rig.  Light textures and crepe fabrics lend themselves to a perfect look to wear from 9-5.  Not one to be plain, I am adoring the vibrant Tropical Print of this blouse.  More than the print; however, I kinda love how it got me turned onto lilac/lavender/light purple and such.  Just another hue I'm loving for the summer--makes for such a lovely pairing with navy, dark purple, mint, turquoise, and even red.  I'm definitely lacking this shade in my arsenal so during my sheer laziness of a Sunday, started bookmarking some lovely lilacs below.  You all have a wonderful start to your week...make it a great one!

The Work Dress

dress (DVF, avail locally at AJs Casuals), bag (Clare Vivier, avail locally at Omar + Elsie), heels (French Connection, ON SALE, ORDER FULL SIZE UP), shades (Ray Ban), bracelets (Cuff Morton JamesOmar + Elsie Coordinates Bracelet, Kate Spade), necklaces (Adele of LexingtonSheer Addiction c/o), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)

Now that warmer weather is officially upon us, I've been gravitating towards dresses during my 9 to 5 gig.  They're super easy, polished, and comfy while still maintaining a level of professionalism.  The good thing, too, about many dresses nowadays, is they'll take you from day to after work festivities be it happy hour or dinner.  I've really been stocking up on them lately and I'm definitely thinking I'm going to add this little GEM to the mix---how great would it look paired with red, navy, kelly green, more mint, or black--too many possibilities to choose from!  Tossed a few others I've been clocking down below (ps:  the black scalloped number comes in mint, too).  Cheers to a wonderful week--make it a good one, oh and make sure to check out my posts from the weekend HERE and HERE!

Shades of Blue

blouse (J.Crew on SALE), skirt (J.Crew on SALE), heels (Kate Spade), bag (Galian c/o), necklace (Pink Pineapple c/o), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (Cartier)

So I've always been a fan of  tone on tone dressing and this navy & baby blue ensemble is no exception.  For my 9 to 5 day gig, I'm always looking for rigs that have a bit of personality and don't bore both myself and my clients to tears.  This Blouse definitely serves up a bit of quirk and the Chunky Pearls and emerald green bag add just the right amount of accessorized details.  Even though there's some personality tossed in there, I think we've managed to maintain some ladylike professionalism, right?  All about balance in my book!
Ok gang, if you're following along Instagram, you know my little ladies and I are on a little Floridian rendezvous and loving every minute of it.  Y'all make it a great one--taking the babes with me to "work" tomorrow on a blog shoot with my fave Floridian photog, Lindsey Potter, so stay tuned for some fun beachy looks!

Red Does Red

jacket (Gap, loved THIS STRIPED NUMBER), pants (J.Crew, love THIS COLOR), blouse (J.Crew), heels (J.Crew), rings (Anna Beck, David Yurman), watch (Cartier), bracelets (Sylvia Benson c/o), shades (Gucci)

Wondering why in the sam hell I'm wearing this work look in the snow?  Yea, me too.  In all honesty, I sported this look a few weeks back before it got insanely cold and kinda couldn't resist having KT snap a few pics of it in Lexington's version of a blizzard (horrible planning on my part).  Interestingly enough, it's separates and not a suit which I'm a huge fan of doing even if not in the same hue.  Indeed it's bold to pull out all red look with dual leopard, but I'm on board with it as long as it's all tucked, polished, and topped off with subtle gold accessories.  Alright gang, make it a good one---look at the yahoo below trying to get her "shot"--so serves me right for attempting to wear such weather inappropriate garb!
