Stripes at Work

Some days I'm in the mood to create a 'look' for work (exhibits A, B, & C) other times, not so much.  When my creativity is lacking and time isn't on my side, dresses like this lovely DVF are a gal's best friend.  In a classic shape with figure flattering seaming, this number has become a work staple in my closet (that's not to say it isn't perfect for a number of other occasions).  Initially I was going to toss her on with some black heels; however, a Nude Wedge helps to elongate the leg which is never a bad thing.  Alright gang, hope you all had a lovely weekend.  It was so gorg here in Lex that we def spent the majority of our time outside!  Make it a good one!

Spotty Situation

Talk about the perfect dress to transition from day to night!  I am in LOVE with this DVF number--(thank you AJs Casuals)!!  I swear what you would pair with this is endless.  I already envision some ballet flats,  white kitten heels or THESE in white ( I am on a MAD hunt for white shoes--not an easy find), possibly with a neck full of baubles.  Bottom line, if you're going to invest in a frock such as this, make sure you can get some major mileage out of it and it's a versatile little thing.  Y'all make it a good one!

Oh, PS, I am on a mad purging spree--take a gander at My Closet on Poshmark.  If you know me, you know I am one who can easily purge my closet so stay tuned--I've got my mom and sis in town as reinforcements forcing me to edit my beast of a closet--more to come!

Trail Blazin'

This rig(s) is the direct result of all winter sheaths, shifts, tweeds, suits being at the dry cleaner and having to get a little creative with my summer frocks.  I opted to wear the black blazer for my work meeting, but I still can't decide which is my preference--what's your vote?  Point of this little post is we shall not forget about our spring/summer pieces that may appear at first glance off limits.  Toss on some tights (maybe in a fun shade like red or blue), blazers, turtlenecks underneath, and you my dears will have a perfectly suited winter rig.  Make it a good one, gang!

Off to the Races--Again!

It's October here in the Bluegrass and that means a plethora of things.  Pumpkin patches, insanely gorgeous foliage, UK Football, and my personal favorite--Keeneland!  This Friday kicks off the October run and two things will no doubt be the main attraction:  the horses & the FASHION!  It's fanciness galore and I am not going to deny that my betting is constantly distracted by the overload of fashion.

If I may hop on my soapbox...this DVF dress from AJs Casuals--it was love at first sight with the peplum.  Then she takes it a step further with a keyhole and lace detail...sheer loveliness!  I've said it once and I'll say it again, the ladies at AJs know how to outfit us gals for the races.  For all things bauble, Adele of Lexington offers a lovely addition to your race day rig!  Make it a good one and hope to see you at the races!

Late Bloomer

In all reality we aren't even halfway through the summer; however, I can't help but feel like it's coming to a close.  What with all the fall mags, the summer sales, & the impending school year right around the corner, fall is creeping right on into the mix!  Enter the transitional piece....She's just the kinda thing we all need to shop for the rest of this season.  Let's take this DVF blouse, for instance.  By all appearances, she's a summer number...however, what about pairing her with some leather leggings, a long open gray cardi, and bow'd ballet flats... nice little fall number if you ask me!

Y'all have a lovely weekend...I am beyond excited to spend mine in NYC with my two best gals from childhood...make it a good one!
