Specs & Checks

pants (Gap), blouse (Gap, see SimilarSimilar), blazer (J.Crew obsessed with THIS PINK COCOON), belt (J.Crew), bag (Michael Kors), flats (Luxury Rebel diggin' THESETHESE, & THESE), specs (unknown CRAVING THESE), rings (David Yurman, Anna Beck)

Kicking off the work week with a rig I wore to meetings with some of my fave clients (who also tolerate my unconventional office wear).  This look was inspired by one of My Throwbacks.  I've said it here before many a times, but given my uber professional working environment in hospitals & doctors' offices,  I still need to keep the shapes classic; however, that doesn't mean I can't toss in some color and prints to liven up my looks.  I plan on wearing the hell outta THESE PANTS this season be it with Stripes, chunky knits, or other Bright Blazers.  Hope you all have a fantastic start to your week--it is quintessential fall here with leaves falling galore---love it so very much!  Make it a good one!

Navy On Navy

pants (HM c/o), blouse (HM c/o), flats (Jeffrey Campbell), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), bracelets (J.Crew), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Ray Ban)

Quite possibly one of my fave ways to dress for work.  A simple silky style blouse with some trousers and Flats.  It's perfectly pulled together and more importantly, comfy and cool with these insanely high temps!  And I don't believe there to be a better combo than navy & gold---classic & timeless--could wear it for days!  Alright, gang, gotta dip but just a friendly reminder that the Marc Allison Bells Jeans Giveaway ends this evening so make sure to get your entry on!  Make it a good one!

Bows & Dots

top (C.Major, AJs Casuals, Lexington), skirt (J.Crew oldie, OBSESSED with THESE DOTS), heels (Zara), bag (Michael Kors), belt (target), bracelets (J.CrewStella & Dot), watch (Michael Kors), shades (colors in optiCS), ring (Lagos & Anna Beck)
And with the click of one button, my shopping freeze came to an abrupt end--it was THIS Rebecca Minkoff purse that resulted in my failure, damnit!!  I lasted a measly 7 days...what a crock--I don't know what in the Sam Hell I was thinking trying to implement such a thing!  I'm still doing my best to utilize what I've already got hanging in my closet such as the pencil skirt above (seen last year HERE).  Paired with this C.Major bow blouse from AJs Casuals, and you've got a great feminine look for daytime.  Alright, gang, make it a good one--it's soggy here in the Bluegrass so stay dry Lexingtonians!

Work Mixup

blazer (J.Crew ON SALE), blouse (J.Crew ON SALE), skirt (J.Crew old, SIMILAR), shoes (J.Crew oldies), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), ring (Anna Beck), bracelets (J.Crew ), shades (Ray Ban )
Totally unintentional to be head to toe J.Crew, but truth be told, it does occupy a good bit of real estate in my closet. This outfit (coupled with a geek out evening of watching Suze Orman--I know but she sucks you in) got me inspired to try a little something that many of us have tried (myself excluded).  With the exception of this Blazer, which I got on major sale, the majority of this look came from things already existing in my closet.  Ole' Suze said it takes 21 days to break a habit and well, I've had a pretty naughty habit here lately of shopping entirely too much!  Sooo, I'm saying it here so I have some element of accountability, I am going to give it a go and not buy one unnecessary thing for myself for the next 21 days (I think I just teared up a bit).  And by unnecessary I mean the bathing suit I've been clocking for a few days (this one too, damnit), or the heavy shopping cart on J.Crew I've had sitting there for a day (including THESE & THIS), these SANDALS, or THESE FANTASTIC RED SHADES!?!?!   I feel a smidge better having said it out loud, but still--this is going to be a major challenge for moi (it'sridiculous, I know---but clothes have always been my vice--obviously, I have a fashion blog for pete's sake).  So I am already 4 days in (started on the 1st)--fingers crossed and wish me luck!  You can shop the look above down yonder (someone outta have some fun, right)--Make it a good one, gang!  PS:  I think the no shopping admission in this post has me breaking out into hives!

Pinstripes & Polkas

blouse & skirt (J.Crew old, LOVE this dotted skirt), belt (J.Crew), shoes (Boutique 9), bag (Furla), bracelets (J.Crew), ring (Anna Beck), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci), earrings & pearls (Target)
Something light & crisp for a workday or even a little luncheon.  The subtlety of both the prints & color palette make for a lovely pairing.  Sidenote, I don't wear earrings all that often; however, I stumbled upon THESE WHITE STUDS and snaked them quickly---they are way inexpensive &  add a nice touch to a spring ensemble (as do the PINK & TURQUOISE pairs).
Alright, gang, I have to scoot--have a fieldtrip at an orchard this morn with my sweet Campbell then have to switch outta mom mode into work mode with a business lunch in Louisville!  Busy day indeed--you all make it a good one & enjoy the weekend!  Friendly reminder, The Shelf giveaway ends early next week so make sure to get your entry on!

Smarty Pants

pants (HM see other options below), blazer (Aqua, Bloomingdales), 'leather' peplum (Tinley Road, Piperlime on SALE), heels (Boutique 9), bag (Michael Kors), shades (Colors in optiCS), necklace (Stella & Dot), watch (Cartier)
My day gig as a medical sales consultant in the oncology field typically calls for traditional suit garb.  Thankfully, my clients know me well enough to know that a suit just ain't gonna cut it--and they've grown to appreciate my interpretation of business wear.  For you gals looking to infuse a little personality into your work day...take the printed pant for a ride.  I'm obsessed because they give us the ability to play with separates, textures, prints,  & colors, too!  Take a look at some lovely options below.  Also, in celebration of s + s' big bday this Thursday, stay tuned for some flash giveaways popping up throughout the week...Make it a good one!
