Summer Layers

pants (Gap ON SALE), sweater & blouse (J.Crew on SALE), belt (J.Crew), shoes (Via Spiga), bracelets (Adele), watch (Cartier), necklace (Maya Brenner), bag (Michael Kors), ring (Anna Beck), shades (Gucci)
Pretty obvious I'm not afraid of a little color.  The warmer months are a perfect time to play with various shades--These Skimmers are a great place to start when creating a colorful look (they're super comfy, too).  A Lightweight Popover and a linen sweater aren't heavy and make for comfy layering pieces as well.
I'm headed to Florida this evening with my gals and this whole look is already in the ole' suitcase ready to go.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to get back home to my family. Myself, my brother, sister, sis-in-law, niece & nephew are taking my gals to Disney then we will finish off the trip in Jupiter with my parents.  No better combo than family & beach!!
One last little tidbit, Adele of Lexington is hosting a Lauren Lail trunkshow tomorrow & Sat.  Not sure if you caught a glimpse of this Instagram spouting my love for my Lauren Lail shorts, but this Lexington native is serving it up with some darling pieces with a lovely vintage flair.  Make sure to swing by the trunk show tomorrow and Sat--Adele baubles will be on sale, too--check out the invite below!  Alright gang, make it a good one!

Tomboy Chic

oxford (Gap Men's), shorts (J.Crew shocking pink), belt (J.Crew), hat (HM, just bought THIS in Natural and L O V E ), chucks (Converse with a side of my daughter's beads), watch (Tag Heuer), bracelets (Jennifer Zeuner, Crewcuts how cute is THISStella & Dot), shades (Ray Ban), ring (Anna Beck)
Sorry I'm a little late to the party today gang; however, last night was spent with NKOTB, Boyz to Men, and 98 Degrees...having distinct memories of leaning against the Murray Middle School gym wall with Brooke and Tiff hoping to get asked to dance to, "The End of the Road."  Alas, it ultimately ended up in a trip to the concession stand for hot dogs while the more advanced gals made out on the dance floor!  Needless to say, my girlfriends and I had an absolute blast last night and it's amazing how those lyrics are like riding a bike--come back to you even when you haven't sang to them in ages--as did the dance moves!
Now onto the rig.  I posted this one while in the dressing room at Gap on Instagram and I gotta say, since swiping this men's Oxford from Gap, I have been more inclined to shop the men's sections lately (if you remember, I already make it a habit to tackle the Kid's Section, too).   Just a little reminder to broaden your horizons a little while shopping and maybe break out of your normal routine--you never know what gems you may find (and more often than not, mens/boys are less expensive)!  Alright gang, make it a good one!

Shorts Get Spruced

shorts (GAP, sold out online--still avail in STORES), tank (DVF), blazer & shoes (Zara ON SALE), bag (Rebecca Minkoff), necklaces (Express), belt (HM), cuff (unknown), watch (Tag Heuer), shades (Gucci)
Giving you all a Casual Version of these shorts last week calls for a more spruced up version this week.  Such a bummer they are no longer online; however, I just picked up some goodies for my girls at Gap this weekend and they definitely had some still in stock (and I believe they were 30% off).  I chose to get a size larger than normal so it added to the relaxed fit and allowed me to cinch em' up with a belt.  Tossing on a pair of Black Strappy Heels toughened the classic stripes up just enough for my taste.  Add a double dose of  gold chunky necklaces and voila--nice little evening outfit.  And how lovely does Miss Jenny from Crazy Style Love look in her spruced up shorts number?  This is a girl after my own heart (Hello Stripes & Leopard).  She's utterly feminine and fearless when it comes to prints and color--plus she makes me chuckle in her write ups!  If you haven't checked out Crazy Style Love, you must.  Alright gang, make it a good one!

Shorts, Stripes & Sweats

shorts (Gap), sweatshirt (Current/Elliot see SIMILAR), blouse (J.Crew), bag (Michael Kors), flats (J.Crew, SIMILAR 25% OFF), watch (Tag Heuer), bracelet (J.Crew), shades (Gucci)

Many of my fave things going on with this rig...stripes (obviously) & a cozy sweatshirt being the top two.  I am just loving the fit of these Boyfriend Shorts (love THESE , too)--the relaxed feel add to the casual factor which I why I chose to add a feminine pair of Silver Ballets.  Next week I'll spruce these boyfriends up a bit for a night out so make sure you take a gander.  Alright, gang, make it a good one and enjoy your weekend!

No shocker I am a big fan of this kinda look (see THIS & THIS).  It's an easy go to look for when I'm on the move with my kiddies or running errands.  I'm loving this LAmade Dress for its laid back feel but with a nice silky fabric.  Make sure to take a gander at LAmade's easy & feminine frocks--they're extending a nice little discount for s + s readers---use code SEERSUCKER20 for 20% off your LAmade purchase.  Alright, gang, make it a good one--thanks for reading!

Pink on Pink

entire rig (oldie but goodie, J.Crew--love the idea of pairing THESE with THIS POPOVER for a good print mix), watch (Cartier), cuff (unknown), ring (Lagos), bag (Furla, SPLURGE vs  STEAL), shades (Ray Ban)
This preppy & polished rig is the result of a successful attempt at utilizing what is already in my closet! I have had all of these pieces in my arsenal for a few years now but they definitely felt refreshed when doing a little monochrome print mix (hard to tell, but blouse has a slight pink pinstripe).  Because the all over pink could get a little pop tart, I wanted to make sure the look stayed classic by doing a crisp tucked in blouse, belt, flat sandals and a gold cuff to finish her off.  Just another lesson for us all (especially myself) to creatively work with what we already have....if only I could consistently practice what I preach!
Switching topics, I get asked quite a bit about my hair.  Who cuts it (Shawnee at Voce on Clay--LOVE ), what color do I use, how do I style it, etc.  With that in mind, I wanted to share a product I've been using here as of late that I'm just loving!  The Marco Anti-Frizz Leave in Conditioner with Collagen Color Guard has been my hair savior.  As my hair is getting longer, the months warmer, and my color blonder--my mop top can start to get a little dried out.  This goodness has been protecting the hell outta it and doing my locks just right.  Not to mention Marco himself is such a doll and a majorly talented color connoisseur (trying to justify in my mind taking a trip to LA to have him get a hold of my locks).  I know we're always looking for an easy solution whether it be for dried hair or skin, and this stuff is a goodin'. Alright guys, make it a good one & enjoy your weekend!
