Sporty Mara

dress (Mara Hoffman, Morton James, love this SALE Version), sneaks (Converse), bag (Rebecca Minkoff), bracelets (Morton James Cuff, jcrew, sylvia benson), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Gucci)

Loved Mara Hoffman for quite a bit now (see Exhibit A), everything from her Swimsuits to her vibrant Frocks, she strikes the perfect balance of fun and flirty.  And while I love a healthy dose of flirty, I feel inclined to tone it down a notch with, surprise surprise, a good pair of Sneaks.  Not to say this number from Morton James wouldn't be perfect with some Gladiators, but personally, I feel more in my skin with the Chucks.  And after all, it's about finding what works best for you, and your style, don't you think?
Alright gang, I've got my mom flying in from Florida this morning and I cannot WAIT--missing her something fierce!  Y'all have a wonderful weekend and shop some other Mara's below (some good sales on some of her pieces)!  Make it a good one!

I'm not going to bore you with much today.  This Dress from Morton James really needs no tiresome description from me.  It's possibly one of my best purchases this summer.  It will no doubt prove to be timeless. I simply love it (along with these SANDALS for under 20 smacks).  And that's all she wrote for today, gang (except I promise moving forward to do my best to keep my damn hands away from my hair---getting her cut Friday--driving me bonkers).  Y'all make it a good one!  Shop the look below:

The Black Classic

blouse (Chico's c/o), denim (DL 1961 Similar minus the distressed love THESE DISTRESSED), heels ( Loeffler Randall, Omar + Elsieavailable online HERE --how 'bout the matching CLUTCH ON SALE), clutch ( Clare Vivier, Omar + Elsie, available online HERE), necklaces (Chico's x 2 c/o), cuff (Similar), bracelets (J.Crew, Sylvia Benson, c/o), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Gucci), watch (Michael Kors)

So many times when I choose what to wear, I over think it be it colors, patterns, or maybe a not-so-comfy cut or shape.  Sure the rig may look alright in the end, but I've gotta say, sometimes less definitely is more.  Keeping her simple and classic is key.  Could there be anything more classic than a Button Down Blouse?  Paired with well fitted Distressed Denim and Spotted Heels, sure she's simple, but that's exactly what I like about her.  Chunked up with some Baubles (remember my double up trick) and a Leo clutch adds just the right amount of interest for my taste.  So if headed out this weekend and stuck in a what-to-wear rut--go back to your basics--gotta a pretty solid feeling they'll be just as fab as some of your more elaborate threads.  Y'all make it a great one!

Candidly Campbell

ballets (Yosi Samra c/o), vest (Old Navy ON SALE), tshirt (Crewcuts LOVE THISTHIS, & THIS), jeans (Target see similar HERE), kitty cat headband (Crewcuts, equally as CUTE), shades ( Mom's , how about THESE)
mom's look (see HERE)

So it went like this.  Cam accompanies me to snap a few shots for s + s (big sis is at a friend's house). She watches mom snap the first look above and while I'm changing (in the parking lot behind a truck mind you--truly), she says to Kristin, "Can I blog, too?"  And there you have it...kid totally whips out a post in two mins flat--making mom look like a complete and total amateur.
In preparation for this post, while sorting through these shots, I asked her about her new fave Ballets from Yosi Samra.  An interview if you will.  Because after all, if someone is going to be candid about what she does and doesn't like, it is indeed Campbell.  Kid is sweet and sassy all wrapped in one.

Mom:  What is your favorite thing about your Ballets?
Cam:  I really love the bows, Mom.

Mom:  Feel pretty good on your pigs?
Cam:  They're super amazing comfy and I feel extra fancy!

Mom:  Would you recommend these to Juliet, Parker, and Scarlett?
Cam:  Yes.  Ok, can we just watch the Lego Movie now?

So I suppose it's safe to say they get the 5 year old seal of approval!  Cheers to a great start to your week---shop some of  her other requests for back to school below!  Make it a good one, gang!

look 4:  see HERE
look 5:  see HERE
look 6:  see HERE
look 7:  see HERE
look 8:  Oxford, belt (Gucci old resort), bag (vintage)

Pretty clear based on my recent posts (and even some from the archives), I'm having a thing for the Denim Cutoff this summer.  Paired with a blouse, a Blazera tee, Sneaks, or heels, they're undoubtedly versatile, cozy, and a wear-with-anything kinda short.  And while Paige Denim is serving up some of my favorite current cuts, I can't deny Old Navy is giving us some super cute (and affordable) options.  Alright gang, see some other faves belows .  As suspected, it's a dreary lazy day here in Lex, we're gonna venture on foot to the book store and ice cream here shortly but for now, I'm still perusing THIS DANGER ZONE.  Y'all make it a fab one and enjoy your Saturday!

The Sale

It's that beloved time of year where the Sale Gods descend upon us.  And by Sale I mean THE Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  Don't tell anyone, but I've kinda been counting down the days until this sucker kicks off.  Since I'm already in shopping mode, figured I'd share my fave finds with you all in the hopes we can all score some goodies together.  Ok, so top on my list are obviously THESE SNEAKS, in addition to some LEOINITIALSSUEDEMICHAELCUFF, and ONESIE--not too terrible, but I gotta narrow down my faves just a smidge!  Feel free to click directly on the pics below and it'll take you right to the SALE.  Good luck and get it while the gettin' is good--ends on August 3rd!
Alright gang, make it a great one..think we have some rainy weather in store for the Bluegrass so it looks like some laziness is in store for our weekend....sounds just perfect!
