Punked Plaid

skirt (vintage LOVE THIS & THIS), blouse (J.Crew, just snagged THIS BOYFRIEND VERSION), belt (Patricia Field old), heels (Zara, see SIMILAR), bag (Michael Kors), bracelets (Bourbon & Boweties, Adele c/o), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (Cartier), shades (Gucci)
Punked with a side of polish don't you think?  I can only take punk so far so adding a Classic White Blouse was my way of keeping it somewhat classic.  I have to give credit where credit is due regarding this skirt.  I was doing a Closet Edit for my girlfriend, Caroline,  (purge, organize, create rigs--my FAVORITE) and I came across this skirt and about died.  Interestingly enough, it's a keepsake from a relative of hers and she was saving it for a possible costume (girl loves a good theme party).  Anyhow, I knew this sucker had potential for rigs other than costumes.  Don't get me wrong, she's gonna make a superb Scot, but this lovely had to showcase her fall talents.  Think outside the box, gang, and you'll be amazed by some of the looks you can create!  I'm just back from another fabulous trip to NYC so I've got boatloads to get to today---y'all make it a good one!

Fall for Prep

jeans (dl1961), sweater (Gap), blouse (J.Crew see Alternative), blazer (Zara, Alternate Green Topper), loafers (C. Wonder), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Cartier), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Ray Ban)
Multitasking like a son of a gun this afternoon which would explain the tardiness of today's post (apologies).  Wanted to see if I could make this blazer a smidge more Fall-esque (check out my summer rendition HERE), so I decided to toss on another layer with a navy sweater (similar HERE) & some Needlepoint Loafers.  Just another friendly reminder to not discount some of your spring/summer pieces---with a few fall textures, you can totally carry them through the cooler months!  Alright gang, make it a good one & enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

Blazer & Boyfriends

blazer (Tinley Road, Piperlime 20% off sitewide), jeans (J.Brand ON SALE), chambray (Jcrew, 25% off with SHOPFALL), belt (J.Crew, Similar), shoes (Luxury Rebel, Alternate Metallics HERE or HERE), bag (Rebecca Minkoff), watch (Michael Kors), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), shades (Gucci)
Go to fall look right here.  Kinda can't go wrong with a BlazerBoyfriendsFlats, & a side of Leopard.  The relaxed fit of these jeans call for a little more polish which is why I prepped them out with the blazer & loafers.  I also plan on pairing the blazer with these guys for a streamlined work look.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend...weather was just perfect here!  Cheers to a fab Monday---make it a good one!

The Inner Geek

sweater (J.Crew old, men's version HERE), eyelet top (J.Crew, T-shirt Version), jeans (Articles of Society c/o), oxfords (Dolce Vita), bag (Michael Kors), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Ray Ban), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck)
Argyle, eyelet, & oxfords (coveting THESE)---channeling my inner nerd and I've gotta say, feel pretty damn comfy doing so.  This rig screams fall and is perf for errands, mom mode, lunch with the gals, etc--so ideal for my lifestyle.
So let me soapbox it for a second with these Articles of Society Jeans.  I was intro'd to the line a few months ago and I've gotta say, totally digging their fit and price point.  Using the same high quality fabrics, fit standards, and craftsmanship as their luxury counterparts, AOS focuses on bringing quality denim to us regular gals without the crazy designer denim price tag.  Bonus:  the designers are veterans in the denim industry with prior ties to Hudson, Antik, Vince & Theory--so they're legit needless to say!  Alright, gang, have a fab weekend---I've got my mom, Bitsy, coming into town tonight and I couldn't be more excited.  Our visits are the BEST--full of laughs, productivity, and good cookin!  Headed to some fall festivals this weekend to enjoy this gorg weather!  See y'all Monday!

Faux Real

skirt (Tinley Road, Piperlime), shirts (HM c/o, J.Crew chambray), vest (J.Crew), crossbody (Elaine Turner c/o), booties (Belle by Sigerson Morrison, SIMILAR), necklace (Sheer Addiction Jewelry c/o), shades (Gucci), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), watch (Michael Kors)
So here’s a few of the many beautiful things about leather.  First of all, it is everywhere this Fall—I mean EVERYWHERE!  Whether it’s piped on pants, trimmed on T-shirts, or the sleeve of your new favorite jacket, you’re going to be hard pressed to avoid this fabulous detailing on your fall wardrobe.  Secondly, it comes in an array of different shapes.  Long gone are the days when leather only complemented pants or jackets.  Nowadays, she pretty much makes a splash on all articles of clothing.  Think skirts (mini, maxi, & midi), dresses, blouses, t-shirts, and vests. Here’s another bonus for Team Leather---she is a CLASSIC!  I still have a cognac BCBG Max Azria leather pencil skirt sitting in my closet (and I wear it more importantly) from post college when I worked there.  So we’re talking about “X” years ago and I still get regular usage out of it (you didn’t think I was really going to divulge my age now did you)!!  Classic is a goodie because if you’re going to invest the money in an authentic leather gem, you better be sure you’re going to be able to wear that lovely for years to come.  But here’s the kicker, if you DON’T want to break the bank, we’ve got FAUX.  Case in point, check out the vegan cognac A-Line skirt I’m sporting.  Now I will admit, I can tell the difference between the real stuff and the faux; however, it isn’t terribly obvious and wouldn’t deter me from wearing it.  Faux is all the rage anyhow, so who gives a hoot if it allows you to maybe try a piece that you couldn’t otherwise afford.
Have y'all remembered to enter the Favery Giveaway?  It's a goodin' so make sure to enter--alright gang, make it a good one---I've got one helluva drive for work today--deliver me!

The Print Mixer

beaded necklace (The Favery c/o), top (Loft), denim (Asos, Love THESETHESETHESE), heels (Zara, similar Cages), flats (Ann Taylor, other Leo's), bag (Michael Kors), jacket (HM c/o), watch (Cartier), rings (Lagos, Anna Beck), bib necklace (INPINK c/o), shades (Gucci)
Wanna know how to breathe life into otherwise older pieces in your wardrobe (ie: this top, jeans, & flats)?  Pair those bad boys together in a somewhat unexpected way and toss some baubles around your neck and voila---new life, new rig!  At first glance it may seem there is quite a bit going on in this look, but I firmly believe black can anchor just about anything and streamline a look.  There's also no better or easier way to add freshness to a look than with some accessories.
On that note, I am absolutely loving this Beaded Necklace from the Favery.  The Favery is a private-sale site whose mission is to help accessorize every outfit with unique designer jewelry....seriously killer pieces!  And how great for us that The Favery is offering a s + s reader a chance to win a $75 gift card when you sign up to be a member of their stylish fashion community HERE.  And that's it--entry to win is easy as that--simply sign up HERE .   Giveaway is only open to US Residents and Must Be 18 years or older to enter.  Winner will be announced next Wednesday!

Citron & Chambray

skirt (J.Crew on SALE), chambray (J.Crew NEED THIS stat), heels (Sam Edelman on SALE), belt (Gap see Alternative), bracelets (J.Crew, Stella & Dot on SALE), rings (Lagos, David Yurman, Anna Beck), shades (Ray Ban), bag (Michael Kors), necklace (Maya Brenner)
A sleek Pencil Skirt, chambray, & detailed Heels infuse a little personality into my day gig and, along with This Style Look, is one of my fave ways to dress for work.  This Pencil Skirt is actually much more vibrant in person which is why I chose to tone her down with a chambray (Diggin this Lovely).  Classics need not be boring--amp them up with color, prints, textures, & accessories and no doubt you've elevated your look!
Alright gang, cheers to a great week & to the winner of the Marc Allison Jeans Giveaway!  Big congrats goes to Miss Wesleigh Gary--no doubt you'll do the bells justice my dear!  Thank you to all who participated--much appreciated!
