Aunt Me Downs

Gal had that 70s swag, that 80s pop your collar cool, and now she's just as classic-with-a-twist as they come---she's my Aunt Morey (or Mary Jane as everyone else knows her).  She sported yellow high top Converse entirely before their time and has the sickest collection of oxfords known to (wo)man--damnit if I don't wear her shoe size!  So, needless to say, when I pit stopped in ATL on my way to & fro FLA--I was full court pressing her to get into her dang closet(s).  Oh and did I---we're talking blazers for days (see above), an old school Calvin Klein navy blue striped one piece, oxfords that were my Aunt Beth's (3rd sister) from Italy, silk blouses, vest dresses---I scored the dang vintage jackpot!  So gals--let this be a lesson---take advantage of those trips home and see if the ladies in your lives don't have some hidden treasures buried in the backs of their closets.  Oh and ps, Morey, I'm coming for round two in March--brace yourself--I want that pink striped sweater and saddle bag!  Loves you, More!

 Kid you not, gang, these Marc Allison Bells are my current faves.  Serious love affair going on with their fit and flattering bell cut. Since the jeans are a statement all their own, I kept her pretty simple and streamlined with a men's button down shirt.  And I'm quite excited that Marc Allison Jeans is gifting a pair to an s + s reader!  The lucky winner is going to L O V E these bad boys--seriously!

You all know I love a quirky Kate Spade Tee (see HERE).  Toss her on with some skinnies & a blazer, and you've got a perfect rig for date night or a gal's night out.  We've chatted about some good spring staples (the denim jacket & white blazer), well the striped blazer is no exception.  I have worn this sucker TO DEATH--I am loving this Navy & White version from Madewell.  GAP also has some great options and they're having 30% off with Friends & Family, too.  Alright, gang, you all have a fantastic close to your week--make it a good one!

When asked to participate in the Of Wit & Will shop your closet contest, I thought, "I'll give it a go!"  Not one to typically enter contests, I couldn't resist the idea of recreating a look from any of the Fall 2013 Fashion Shows--more importantly, shopping your own closet to achieve the look (well that and the $1000 shopping pass enticed me, too). After searching looks from my favorite designers, I stumbled upon the look above from the Burberry Men's Fall 2013 lookbook.  There weren't any rules stating I couldn't go coed, so I thought why not add a little femininity to an otherwise masculine look?  What do you all think?  If you'd like, take a gander over to Of Wit & Will's FaceBook Page and VOTE ---I sure would appreciate it!  Or while you're at it, see what you can recreate--contest ends this Friday.  Y'all make it a good one!
