It's 1:30 am as I type this and sister is having a MAJ-OR case of writer's block.  Good grief.  Started the sentence out with a damn snore of an opener and  I just gotta own up to the fact that I've been up since 5:45 this morn--and I am not worth much right about now.  So let's see how simplified (read:  boring)  I can keep this write up---
1.  Newsflash--I love a print mix
2.  Currently digging a Crop (This Sucker is $10)
3.  God love the Midi for concealing all the nonsense we'd like to hide and positively highlighting the waistline
4.  I'm gonna be a dang crabapple tomorrow (sorry, M)

It's Clover Canyon

There's not too much to say about this frock other than it fits like a dang glove, sucks you in in all the right places, and makes a very vibrant statement!  I wore it out on the town in NYC and while it is a definitely switch from my working mom/casual mode, I have to say I quite enjoyed getting a little spruced for the evening.  Word to the wise---lay off the cupcakes the day of--sucker hugs like nobody's business!  Make it a good one gang!

If you follow s + s on Instagram you may have already seen me sport this Mara Hoffman lovely (whom I'm obsessed with btw, but more on that later) to Churchill Downs the other afternoon to kick off Derby week--ps:  big Thanks to America's Best Racing for hosting a lovely day at the track.  I had such a great time with Danielle placing some bets & gabbing away.  While most ladies will sport something very bright, cheery, and girly to the track--I wanted to switch it up by sporting a more modern dress but still having that element of lady with the tea length. 

 So back to Mara Hoffman--ummm, I want it all!  From the bikinis to the beach cover ups--the prints which are both modern & feminine are my absolute fave.  Make sure to check out some of my picks below.

One of my fave months of the year is upon us...my little gal turns 4 this week, school is almost out, warmth is here to stay--good stuff all the way around!  As I mentioned on Monday, totally digging the shorts/blazer combo...this time around, I wanted a more feminine feel so I opted for silky fabrics.  Due to the 'flowy' nature of the floral shorts & shell, I chose to tailor it up a bit by throwing on the blazer as a topper. 

Lastly---you know, I haven't been into a LOFT in ages...possibly since I first got out of college and into the real world where I needed workwear.  No particular reason why, just wasn't in my circuit of places I like to shop...until now.  I hopped into our Whole Foods a few weekends ago and a new LOFT (Lexington Green for us locals) was having their grand opening event next door.  Stumbled on in and good grief---great little spring/summer numbers all throughout the store (with a good portion of the store being on SALE).  They've definitely got a modern feminine mix going on which I just love.  Shoutout to my gal, Elizabeth, for making my shopping experience such a lovely one--and tracking down the shell pictured above!  Make it a good one!

Turning a year older (and hopefully wiser) today, gang!  I wore this little number with a group of my best gals last week to celebrate the ole' birthday, and celebrate we did!  Aside from the bold stripe print, I am a huge fan of this frock's pockets--makes you feel a little extra sassy. Morning, Gang!  I hope everyone had a lovely weekend--the move was a success and thank goodness it is O.V.E.R!  Thank you for all of the well wishes....let's get onto the rig, yes?  The marriage of gingham & camo makes me quite happy.  I think most would typically gravitate towards something a little more edgy or urban when dressing up camo, but I'm kinda loving the idea of prepping it up (I will keep an eye out for my GAP version--think they literally JUST sold out as I bought mine 2 weeks ago).  Other ways to sport the camo?  See a Feminine Twist or a Play on Stripes.  Make sure to follow s + s on Instagram to see more OOTD's that don't make the blog's cut.  Make it a good one (and stay dry if your in Lex)!

You all know I love a quirky Kate Spade Tee (see HERE).  Toss her on with some skinnies & a blazer, and you've got a perfect rig for date night or a gal's night out.  We've chatted about some good spring staples (the denim jacket & white blazer), well the striped blazer is no exception.  I have worn this sucker TO DEATH--I am loving this Navy & White version from Madewell.  GAP also has some great options and they're having 30% off with Friends & Family, too.  Alright, gang, you all have a fantastic close to your week--make it a good one!

When asked to participate in the Of Wit & Will shop your closet contest, I thought, "I'll give it a go!"  Not one to typically enter contests, I couldn't resist the idea of recreating a look from any of the Fall 2013 Fashion Shows--more importantly, shopping your own closet to achieve the look (well that and the $1000 shopping pass enticed me, too).
