Pinstripes & Polkas

blouse & skirt (J.Crew old, LOVE this dotted skirt), belt (J.Crew), shoes (Boutique 9), bag (Furla), bracelets (J.Crew), ring (Anna Beck), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Gucci), earrings & pearls (Target)
Something light & crisp for a workday or even a little luncheon.  The subtlety of both the prints & color palette make for a lovely pairing.  Sidenote, I don't wear earrings all that often; however, I stumbled upon THESE WHITE STUDS and snaked them quickly---they are way inexpensive &  add a nice touch to a spring ensemble (as do the PINK & TURQUOISE pairs).
Alright, gang, I have to scoot--have a fieldtrip at an orchard this morn with my sweet Campbell then have to switch outta mom mode into work mode with a business lunch in Louisville!  Busy day indeed--you all make it a good one & enjoy the weekend!  Friendly reminder, The Shelf giveaway ends early next week so make sure to get your entry on!

Relaxed Prints

pants (Loft), blouse (J.Crew), shoes (Boutique 9, Bloomingdales), clutch (Kate Spade, love THIS), ring (Kendra Scott), necklace (Maya Brenner), watch (Michael Kors), shades (Prada)
A little variation on my go to button down & pants look.  I wore this look out to dinner with some friends a few weeks ago and I have to say--I am totally into its laid back yet polished vibe.  The silky fabric of this Blouse Pants (not to mention the elastic waistband) allow for some breathing room & are seasonally appropriate.  You know I love a good print mix so this stripe & paisley pairing are a match made in heaven in my book!  Alright gang, you all make it a good start to your week!

Smarty Pants

pants (HM see other options below), blazer (Aqua, Bloomingdales), 'leather' peplum (Tinley Road, Piperlime on SALE), heels (Boutique 9), bag (Michael Kors), shades (Colors in optiCS), necklace (Stella & Dot), watch (Cartier)
My day gig as a medical sales consultant in the oncology field typically calls for traditional suit garb.  Thankfully, my clients know me well enough to know that a suit just ain't gonna cut it--and they've grown to appreciate my interpretation of business wear.  For you gals looking to infuse a little personality into your work day...take the printed pant for a ride.  I'm obsessed because they give us the ability to play with separates, textures, prints,  & colors, too!  Take a look at some lovely options below.  Also, in celebration of s + s' big bday this Thursday, stay tuned for some flash giveaways popping up throughout the week...Make it a good one!

Derby Blue

(Nanette Lepore , AJs Casuals Lexington KY), shoes (Boutique 9), clutch (Kate Spade), fascinator (Hats by Madelyn, AJs Casuals, Lexington KY), earrings (Target), watch (Cartier), bracelet (J.Crew)

For us Kentuckians, this is a wonderful time of year.  The horse races are in full swing at Keeneland which can only mean one thing....The Kentucky Derby is right around the corner.  Now look, many a spectator is in it for the races; however, I am a horse of a different color (so bad, right, but how could I resist that pun).  For me, the Derby is all about the fashion!  What with the glamourous hats & the lady like dresses--it is a fashion spectator's dream.  While I am loving the idea of a minimal stripe paired with a peplum (clearly, as I paired a very similar Look Last Year) , don't steer clear of vibrant hues or even florals.  My gal Danielle of Lou What Wear is basically giving it to us live from Churchill Downs---she is doing a series this whole month illustrating different frocks that suit the different areas of the track--I am so loving this! Also, the lovely ladies over at AJs Casuals can outfit your look from head to toe--gorgeous dresses, fascinators, & hats galore! Even if you're not visiting the Bluegrass State for the races this year, throw a little soiree in honor of the horses---what better excuse to get all dolled up Southern Style!  Make it a good one, gang!
